Manager Operations USA Based Travel Agency

We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day agency functions. As the heartbeat of our operations, you will oversee our team of travel consultants, streamline booking workflows, and manage relationships with global vendors. Your goal is to ensure that every traveler receives a seamless, world-class experience from the first inquiry to their return home.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of travel agents, ensuring high productivity, adherence to sales targets, and exceptional customer service.
• Process Optimization: Audit and improve internal workflows for bookings, payments, and itinerary management to increase efficiency.
• Vendor Management: Maintain and negotiate relationships with airlines, hotels, tour operators, and DMC partners to secure competitive rates and perks.
• Quality Control: Oversee the accuracy of all travel documentation (visas, vouchers, flight tickets) and resolve any complex escalations or "on-the-road" emergencies.
• Financial Oversight: Manage agency budgets, track commissions, and ensure timely invoicing and reconciliation with the finance department.
• Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with US travel regulations, ARC/IATA standards, and internal data privacy policies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in the travel industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership/managerial capacity.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in GDS systems (Sabre, Amadeus, or Apollo) and travel management software (CRM/Back-office).
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the US travel market, including domestic and international luxury or corporate travel trends.
• Problem Solving: Proven ability to handle crisis management (e.g., flight cancellations, weather disruptions) with composure.
• Communication: Masterful written and verbal communication skills—able to negotiate with vendors and charm high-net-worth clients alike.
