MANAGER - PRIVATE ISLAND

This Role of Manager Reports to: Chairman / Director

Position Overview:
The Private Island Manager is responsible for the full management, operation, and maintenance of the island estate, ensuring that all aspects of the property function at the highest possible standard. This role combines luxury hospitality management, estate supervision, and operational leadership to provide an exceptional living and guest experience for the owner, their family, and visitors.

The Manager will lead a dedicated team, oversee all facilities and services, and ensure that the island operates smoothly, safely, and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:
Island Operations & Administration:
  • Oversee all day-to-day island operations, including hospitality, maintenance, logistics, marine operations, landscaping, and housekeeping.
  • Implement and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency, consistency, and discretion.
  • Coordinate scheduling, supplies, and transportation to and from the island.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including service providers, maintenance crews, and suppliers.

Guest & Owner Experience:
  • Ensure seamless and personalized service for the owner, family members, and guests at all times.
  • Anticipate guest needs and deliver world-class hospitality in line with luxury lifestyle expectations.
  • Maintain the highest level of privacy, confidentiality, and discretion in all interactions.
  • Manage arrival and departure experiences, including transportation coordination and concierge services.

Staff Leadership & Human Resources:
  • Recruit, train, and supervise island staff, promoting a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and training programs to maintain high service standards.
  • Oversee staff housing, welfare, and rotation schedules.

Property & Facilities Management:
  • Oversee maintenance of villas, facilities, utilities, boats, and equipment to ensure safety and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate improvement and renovation projects as required.
  • Ensure the island’s infrastructure (power, water, waste, and communication systems) operates efficiently and sustainably.

Financial & Administrative Management:
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and transparent financial reporting.
  • Approve purchases and manage inventory, procurement, and supplier contracts.
  • Provide monthly operational and financial reports to ownership.

Safety, Security & Environmental Stewardship:
  • Enforce security measures to ensure the safety of all residents, guests, and staff.
  • Develop emergency response and evacuation procedures.
  • Oversee environmental sustainability programs, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and marine/wildlife protection initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of hospitality or management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, resort,
  • Strong financial acumen, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages an asset).
  • Comfortable living and working in a remote, self-sufficient island environment.
