The Opportunity
This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division where we're focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
The Manager Procurement, Software will be responsible for leading the sourcing, negotiation, and lifecycle management of software solutions across the business. This role ensures alignment with business and enterprise strategy, drives cost optimization, mitigates risk, and fosters innovation through strategic vendor partnerships.
What You’ll Work On

Develop and execute software sourcing strategies aligned with business and technology goals

Lead negotiations for complex, high-value software contracts to secure favorable terms and scalability

Build and manage a forward-looking, consolidated supplier base to support current and future needs

Partner with IT, Legal, Finance, and business units to align procurement with enterprise architecture

Administer software agreements to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations

Monitor supplier performance against SLAs, KPIs, and business outcomes

Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to licensing, data privacy, and vendor security
-
Track and forecast software cost drivers, usage trends, and market shifts to inform strategic decisions

Maintain and optimize software procurement budgets through cost-benefit analysis and lifecycle planning

Ensure timely acquisition of critical software to support product development and avoid delays in launch cycles

Establish scalable procurement models that reduce duplication and enable reuse of software components across the organization

Stay informed on emerging technologies, vendor roadmaps, and regulatory changes (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)

Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, vendor capabilities, and technology adoption

Cultivate long-term, strategic relationships with key software vendors to foster innovation and agility

Provide centralized visibility into software needs and procurement plans to support strategic planning and digital transformation
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain or equivalent.

5+ years in strategic sourcing or procurement
-
3+ years sourcing/procuring indirect goods/services
-
Progressively responsible experience in purchasing/commodity management.

Proven experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, ideally in software or technology categories.

Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
-
Familiarity with software licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription, on-premises) and enterprise IT environments.

Ability to analyze financial data and market trends to inform procurement strategy.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications

1-3 years in purchasing/commodity mgt software.

Experience with complex licensing models, cloud/SaaS procurement, and risk/compliance frameworks.
