Position Title: Manager Projects

Location: Cornwala Plant

Workplace type: On Site

The Manager Projects is responsible for managing and supervising the capital projects execution in all relevant aspects of design, costing, planning, control, and construction of Projects to deliver commissioned projects on target and within budget.

This role report to Senior Manager Technical Services

What will you do:

  • Project Execution Management – Manage, monitor, control and supervise the Projects execution and management improvement functions including HSE, cost reduction, manpower productivity, and construction quality and reduce costs at all upcoming Company manufacturing facilities to enhance business results.
  • Process Engineering / Design – Application of detailed knowledge of plant production process, material and energy balance for application in design modifications needed for project implementation. Preparation / revisions of new and modification process and instrumentation drawings, equipment / facility layouts, plan and elevation drawings.
  • Project Detailed Engineering – Providing detailed specifications for materials and works of the project’s Civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation aspects for tendering, procurement and contracting. Electrical and Instrumentation drives and cable sizing, piping material and sizing calculations.
  • Compliance with Design Safety Standards – Comprehensive compliance of world class project standards and documentation with respect to Critical and safe building and structure engineering, Project approvals, management of change, Electrical and hazardous energy control protocols, Material to process compatibility, pressure vessels, environmental (wind / rain load and soil load bearing), Project HAZOPS recommendations and ergonomic considerations.
  • Civil / Construction Management – Managing all type of construction jobs. Checking of enquiries and comparative statements, for Order approval. Construction of buildings, roads, sewers, painting etc. Familiarity with structural design requirements for buildings and load bearing formations for managing these during design and execution stages of the projects.
  • Mechanical Works Management – Checking of enquiries, comparative statements, for Order approval / procurement to purchase (Import/Local), fabrication, erection and commissioning of installed equipment. Safe installation of equipment like Dryers, Pumps, Tanks, Pumps, Vacuum filters, Centrifugal machines, Boilers, Compressors, Heat Exchangers, Evaporators, Piping, (Process, Utilities or Sewer) etc. Ensuring compliance with certification standards of rigging and load lifting equipment and their safety evaluation.
  • Electrical & Instrumentation – Checking of enquiries, statements, for Order approval. Preparation of circuit diagrams, procurement of Instruments, Electric Motors, LT/HT panels, MCC’s, LDB’ etc. and then installation / erection and commissioning of the same.
  • Project Costing and Planning – Estimations and proposals for ongoing and upcoming/ new projects. Identify and investigate deviations in project plans and identify measures for correcting the same.
  • Project EHS & Quality – Compliance with Project related EHS standards (ASME, NFPA, BS and HAZOP in particular) to ensure design safety. Implementation of Ingredion EHS standards for projects execution. Ensuring quality and speed of project execution. Implement standardized methods, systems and practices to build unified performance culture and to develop programs for optimum utilization of resources.
  • Contract Management and Reporting – Manage vendor, third party and contractor performance to take timely corrective and preventive actions as necessary. Issuance of monthly Projects progress and variation reports.
  • Project Commissioning – Ensuring timely and seamless commissioning of the project to attain the requisite quality and volume of intended product from the project. A comprehensive liaison with all project stakeholders and vendors is to be maintained with respect to travel arrangements and scheduling, operating team availability and training, load / capacity testing for seamless handover to operating team.


What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering/mechanical engineering/ Mechatronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering from PEC / HEC recognized and registered University / Institute
  • Minimum 10 years’ work experience in leading Project management role in Process / Food / Pharma Industry in Pakistan / Middle east region preferably in multinational setup.
  • English fluency, both written and spoken

Who are you:

  • Operations and maintenance experience is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of SAP and project planning software is desirable
  • Be able to act as a change agent to lead and support incorporation of state-of-the-art techniques and create acceptability to new and/or modified practices among team for ongoing improvement processes.
