About the Role : The Manager – Policy and Corporate Affairs will be responsible for developing and implementing policy strategies, engaging with regulatory authorities, and managing corporate affairs to ensure a favorable policy environment for Rapido’s operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of public policy, government relations, and regulatory frameworks related to mobility, transportation, and urban development.



Responsibilities :



Policy Advocacy & Government Relations


  • Develop and execute a public policy strategy to navigate regulatory challenges in the mobility sector.
  • Engage with government bodies, regulators, policymakers, and industry associations to advocate for policy changes favorable to Rapido.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments at the central, state, and municipal levels, providing timely insights to leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, transport departments, NITI Aayog, and municipal corporations.
  • Draft position papers, policy briefs, and stakeholder communications on regulatory matters.


Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation


  • Ensure Rapido's compliance with transportation laws, urban mobility policies, and ecommerce regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to interpret policies and navigate regulatory hurdles.
  • Identify policy risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to safeguard business interests.
  • Work closely with state teams to address regulatory challenges and licensing requirements.


Corporate Affairs & Industry Collaboration


  • Represent Rapido in industry associations, working groups, and forums to influence policy discussions.
  • Coordinate with PR and communication teams to shape public narratives around bike taxis and urban mobility.
  • Develop partnerships with think tanks, advocacy groups, and academic institutions for research and policy formulation.
  • Drive corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives linked to urban transport and sustainable mobility.


Strategy & Stakeholder Management


  • Work closely with internal teams (legal, operations, marketing, and finance) to align business strategies with policy objectives.
  • Develop strategic alliances with public and private sector stakeholders to enhance Rapido’s market positioning.
  • Provide regular policy updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.


Crisis Management & Public Affairs


  • Lead crisis response strategies related to regulatory or policy challenges impacting Rapido’s business.
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities during crisis situations.
  • Prepare impact assessment reports and recommendations for policy interventions.




Qualifications :



  • LL.B., LL.M., or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in policy advocacy, government relations, regulatory affairs, or corporate affairs, preferably in the mobility, transportation, logistics, or ecommerce sector.
  • Strong network in government agencies, policy think tanks, and industry associations.
  • Deep understanding of transportation regulations, urban mobility frameworks, and policy-making processes in India.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute policy strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, and compliance roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills with experience in preparing policy briefs and regulatory submissions.
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and work in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.



Required Skills :



  • Prior experience working in a tech-enabled, startup, or mobility company is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of state-wise policy variations in the transport and mobility sector.
