Manager -PUD & Terminal Handling

Job Summary:


To lead and continuously optimize end to end pick up and delivery and terminal handling operations across Saudi-Arabia, ensuring service performance, cost efficiency and full operational control. The role is accountable for establishing a standardized national operating model, driving productivity and capacity management and ensuring full ownership of operational cost and performance.



Job Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Operational Management


  • Define and implement the national PUD & Handling operating model across all locations.
  • Ensure end-to end with full ownership of cost per stop, route and shipment.
  • Drive network-wide capacity planning, including volume forecasting and peak management.
  • Establish clear governance, decision-making frameworks and escalation structures.


2. Terminal & Hub Operations


  • Design and continuously optimize terminal and cross-dock network structure.
  • Define with business performance standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all terminals to ensure consistency.
  • Implement productivity standards (shipments per hour, etc).
  • Optimize direct vs. cross-dock flows to reduce handling cost and transit time.


3. Team Leadership


  • Build and lead a performance-driven culture with clear accountability for KPIs and results.
  • Develop leadership capabilities within local teams to ensure scalable operations.
  • Drive structured workforce planning including shift models and productivity targets.
  • Lead change management initiatives to implement new processes and systems.


4. Performance & KPI Management


  • Take full ownership of operational financial performance & quality performance including cost and contribution margin.
  • Implement advanced KPI framework including cost, productivity and network efficiency metrics.
  • Ensure data accuracy and enforce disciplined KPI tracking through TMS .


5. Cost & Budget Control


  • Own and manage the full PUD & Terminal Handling Budget (P&L) including subcontracting and terminal costs.
  • Continuously challenge cost structures and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Drive make or buy decision (own fleet vs. external vendors) based on cost and service performance.
  • Ensure strict cost governance and approval processes across all locations.


6. Customer Service & Stakeholder Management:


  • Ensure operational planning with key customers to improve efficiency and service levels.

  • Act as escalation owner for major operational and service related issues.
  • Ensure transparency and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.


7. Compliance & Safety


  • Establish and enforce a standardized compliance framework across all locations.
  • Ensure full adherence to transport, labor and safety regulations in Saudi Arabia.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture with measurable safety KPIs.
  • Ensure regular audits with the quality team wit clear action tracking and accountability.


8. Process Improvement & Digitalization


  • Lead the implementation of a fully integrated TMS based operating model.
  • Drive digitalization of end-to-end PUD and terminal processes.
  • Use data driven insights to continuously optimize routing, handling and resource allocation.
  • Establish data quality as a core operational KPI and enforce system discipline.



Job Qualifications and Skills Required:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration (master’s preferred)
  • Certifications like CSCP, CLTD, or Lean Six Sigma are an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Logistics/transportation with minimum 2 years in managerial role.
  • Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC market preferred
  • Proven track record managing large-scale PUD and terminal operations with full operational ownership
  • Strong knowledge of PUD operations, cross-docking, and terminal management
  • Solid experience in cost control and operational performance management
  • Strong understanding of fleet utilization and route optimization (in coordination with fleet management)
  • Experience in implementing and operating TMS driven processes
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with focus on performance and accountability
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Experience in budget planning and cost optimization
  • Proficiency in ERP/TMS systems
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Full ownership of operational cost and performance across PUD and terminal operations
