Job Description – Purchase Manager

Position: Purchase Manager
Department: Procurement / Materials

Experience: 3 to 5 Years
CTC: Up to ₹6 LPA (as applicable)

Job Summary

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, services, and equipment required for construction projects. The role involves vendor management, cost control, timely procurement, and coordination with project, stores, and accounts teams.Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute procurement of construction materials as per project requirements
• Identify, evaluate, and finalize vendors/subcontractors
• Negotiate prices, terms, delivery schedules, and payment conditions
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure compliance with company policies
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to sites without shortages or delays
• Coordinate with project teams, site engineers, and stores department
• Monitor inventory levels and avoid excess or obsolete stock
• Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and rate contracts
• Ensure quality standards and specifications are met
• Handle purchase-related documentation and support audits
• Monitor market trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives
• Resolve vendor-related issues and discrepancies Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce / Management
• Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (preferred)
• Knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes
• Good communication and coordination abilities
• Cost control and budgeting skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (if applicable)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
