Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a world leader of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systems supporting a myriad of defense, surveillance, space, and weather tracking applications. We have an immediate opportunity for a Manager, Requirements & Capabilities (R&C) to join our team in Goleta, California. The Manager, R&C, serves a critical role in the RVS R&C organization, reporting to the Director, R&C - Space Imaging & Microelectronics (SIM). The Manager will support the RVS Tactical Product Line and associated business opportunities. The Manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities and understanding market needs for growth, working with existing customers and establishing new customers, developing strategies and deploying tactics to capture new business and meet the RVS Annual Operating Plan bookings targets.

The Manager supports the development of the Tactical Products strategy, briefs leadership, and leads business development, opportunity shaping, proposal management and capture in support of the annual booking's plan. The Manager will participate in assessing customers’ wants and needs, as well as bringing broad market knowledge to assist in identification and qualification of new business opportunities. The Manager will lead customer engagements along with the development of messaging and talking points, capability white papers, and support the development and management of marketing materials consistent with Raytheon policy, the RVS strategy and RVS technology roadmaps.

What You Will Do

  • Identify, and develop new business opportunities, shape customer requirements and position new business resources to achieve RVS growth objectives. Support development and marketing strategies to achieve business growth goals.
  • Formulate and lead competitive strategies to win pursuits. Demonstrate and communicate a clear understanding of the strategic environment, in particular, customer needs, acquisition plans, competitor strengths, weaknesses and strategies. Collaborate with functional leaders and lead cross-functional proposal teams to ensure alignment with RVS roadmaps, capture and proposal strategies.
  • Generate and implement customer contact plans and lead customer engagements. Focus on the customer, understand strategic environment, threat capabilities, problems, priorities, limitations, and requirements. Understand how the customer perceives current and future RVS capabilities and capacity gaps. Shape opportunities to promote Raytheon solutions.
  • Lead and support internal strategy and proposal gate reviews. Clearly articulate opportunities, customer needs, capture strategies to RVS and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with RTX Global Government Relations (GGR) at the Federal, State/Local on Public Policy in their advocation and development of new technologies and our solutions
  • Approximately 50% annual domestic travel for customer engagements and tradeshows

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and 8+ years of Business Development experience working within the aerospace and defense industry or an Advanced Degree and 5+ years’ experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, program management, technical leadership or government relations with familiarity of the aerospace industry and the USG Department of Defense (DOD) acquisition process
  • Demonstrated experience developing winning capture strategies, growing business opportunity pipelines, leading customer engagements, managing cross-functional proposal teams, driving performance schedules to achieve deadlines, managing investment budgets, and experience with US Government Planning, Programming, Budget and/or Execution (PPBE) and DOD acquisition processes.
  • Experience in aerospace business development with EOIR systems

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Technical acumen with the ability to learn and understand market-specific jargon and how it relates to RVS capabilities. Experience in leading, proofreading, evaluating, and/or editing proposals and white papers
  • Ability to identify potential Raytheon growth opportunities and proven ability to develop effective professional relationships through personal influence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, relationship building skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Have the capability to effectively engage, establish and maintain strong professional networks and rapport. Possess good listening, coaching, presenting, motivating, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative. Driven to achieve results, solve problems, and deliver consistent high-quality results with an adherence to deadlines and schedules
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and workloads. Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
