Manager (Research), Paediatrics & Child Health -MC - (260000D5)
Introduction:
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to supervise research activities from field operations to data management, ensuring high‑quality outputs and strong stakeholder engagement. Specific responsibilities include to:

supervise and monitor field activities including patient identification, registration, surveillance, and domiciliary visits

ensure compliance with study protocols, SOPs, and international GCP standards
-
oversee quality control of collected data through checks, audits, and field visits
-
prepare and compile study progress reports, monthly project updates, and presentations
-
develop high‑quality research proposals and contribute to publications
-
maintain strong communication with staff, communities, and partners
-
travel nationally and internationally as required for project oversight and training.
Requirements:
You should have:
-
Masters in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Sociology, Public Health or Health Policy Management; candidates having Diploma in Child Health or Certification in Good Clinical Practices (GCP) would be preferred

five to eight years of research experience.

experience managing or running clinical trials preferred
-
strong skills in training teams for evaluations and interventions
-
willingness to travel frequently to remote sites for quality assurance and training
-
excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English
-
proven mixed‑methods research ability and strong computer skills
-
ability to work collaboratively with integrity and strong research ethics.
