Manager, Resource Management

At its core, this is a business-critical role with people at the center. The Manager, Resource Management sits at the intersection of IGS’s business priorities and its people—ensuring consultants are thoughtfully staffed, workloads are sustainable, and individual skills, growth, and wellbeing are balanced with client commitments and firm priorities.
Partnering closely with Consulting Partners, Finance, and HR, this role helps to shape how work is staffed and delivered across the firm. It requires a deep understanding of IGS’s business, service offerings, and the skills and capabilities of the consulting team to make thoughtful, best-fit staffing decisions and anticipate evolving resource needs. The role balances human judgment with data and systems, acting as a trusted advisor to leaders while advocating for employees and enabling strong client outcomes.
This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role for someone who enjoys building strong relationships across the firm, applying sound judgment, and serving as a trusted thought partner. The role also acts as an advocate for change, championing the adoption of new tools, system automation, and more effective, scalable ways of managing resources as the firm continues to grow.

Manager, Resource Management (Full-time)

As part of our continued growth, we are hiring a Growth & GTM Strategy Associate who will specialize in working with PE sponsors and their portfolio companies on key areas of growth strategy, including expansion & adjacency planning, commercialization, customer behavior, and sales strategy & enablement.

IGS supports clients through: M&A Due Diligence, Sell-side Industry Analysis, Growth Strategy, GTM Strategy & Pricing Strategy.
  • Buy-side commercial diligence on mission critical investment issues (addressable market, growth, competition, VoC) for PE & corporate acquisitions.
  • Sell-side industry reports to assist owners, management, and their advisors/investment bankers in preparing a company for sale.
  • Assisting portfolio company management in realizing value through accelerated organic growth, buy and build acquisition strategies and targeted quick strike value creation.
  • Advising clients on market entry, sales and marketing alignment, channel strategy, and customer segmentation to enhance market penetration and revenue growth.

What You'll Do


Case Staffing
  • Work with case leadership and Consulting Partners to evaluate and refine staffing requests, ensuring alignment with pricing, project needs, and margin targets.
  • Partner with case leadership to staff cases with the right people based on skills, experience, and capacity.
  • Serve as a neutral thought partner to Consulting Partners and case teams during periods of constrained capacity, helping prioritize work, navigate tradeoffs, and align staffing decisions to firm and client priorities.
  • Build and maintain utilization and capacity views across teams, roles, and service offerings.
  • Monitor the project pipeline for capacity shortages or overages and escalate risks as appropriate.

Collaboration & People Support
  • Build strong relationships across the firm and develop a deep understanding of IGS’s people, capabilities, service lines, and ways of working to support effective resource management decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Consulting Partners, Finance, and HR on staffing, capacity, and utilization discussions, including people-related considerations.
  • Support HR processes related to staffing and engagement work, including performance feedback collection and people-related escalations when appropriate.
  • Promote employee wellbeing and compliance by monitoring PTO trends, approving time off, ensuring PTO is tracked in the resource planning tool once implemented, and supporting timesheet compliance in accordance with firm policy.
Resource Planning Tool, Reporting & Modernization
  • Champion the adoption and ongoing evolution of the resource planning tool by engaging Consulting Partners and consultants, building buy-in, and helping define how staffing, skills, availability, and utilization are tracked and managed to continuously improve how the firm plans and allocates resources.
  • Build and maintain applicable reports and dashboards within the tool to support effective resource planning and decision-making, including capacity views across teams, roles, and service offerings, providing transparent, near–real-time visibility.
  • Drive opportunities to automate and streamline resource management processes within the selected resource planning tool—including PTO requests, approvals, and tracking; project and case team staffing requests; and other areas as they emerge—leveraging existing functionality.
  • Own and maintain skills and expertise data within the tool, customizing skill frameworks to improve visibility, support best-fit staffing, and enable optimal project outcomes.
  • Act as a forward-looking thought partner on staffing, bringing an agile mindset to help evolve flexible models over time that move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach and adapt by service line, engagement, phase, or client.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Relevant experience in staffing or resource management within a consulting or professional services firm is required.
  • Experience working in a PSA or resource planning tool is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or equivalent tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into practical staffing and resource decisions.
  • Strong people and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and navigate complex, cross-functional discussions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, including building analyses, dashboards, and executive-ready materials.
  • Working knowledge of the broader Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Teams) or equivalent productivity tools.
  • Comfort learning and adapting to new systems, tools, and workflows in a changing environment.

Compensation
  • Pay expected for the position: $140,000-$170,000 USD annually (the position level and compensation for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications)
  • Pay is issued on a semi-monthly basis
