Manager-Safety officer

Job Brief,

his role is ideal for a safety professional seeking to manage the construction of Industrial, Warehouse, and Commercial Buildings in the Chennai region. The position offers exposure to both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects within Turnkey Construction and General Contracting business models.

You will collaborate with other construction management professionals in a structured environment that leverages the best tools, techniques, and technologies in the industry and safety norms. The role is based at our Chennai office and involves travel to project sites for reviews and client meetings and inform to management-based request.

Job Description

• Support the development and implementation of OHS policies and programs, fostering a culture of health and safety.
• Develop and execute health and safety plans in compliance with legal guidelines. Regularly review and update policies and measures according to legislative changes.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures. Provide advice and instructions on various safety-related topics, such as noise levels and machinery use.
• Initiate, organize, and conduct OHS training for employees, executives, and contract labour.
• Inspect premises, equipment, and personnel to identify non-conformities or unsafe conditions (e.g., improper use of protective equipment). Oversee installations, maintenance, and the disposal of hazardous substances.
• Stop unsafe acts or processes that pose a risk to health or safety.
• Monitor compliance with policies and legal requirements by inspecting employees and operations. Record and investigate incidents to determine root causes and manage worker’s compensation claims.
• Report on health and safety awareness, occurrences, issues, and statistical data to management.
• Recommend solutions for identified issues, suggest opportunities for improvement, and propose new prevention measures.

Required Profile:

• Must be in south indian candidate only. (No north indian candidate)
• Good knowledge industrial project in construction based company is must.
• Minimum 10+year is experience is must
