Manager, SMB Sales

Job Description


The CPG industry relies on NielsenIQ for understanding emerging market trends for their growth strategy and NielsenIQ provides information services and products to our manufacturers, that helps them take strategic business decisions. Our data offers comprehensive and timely information on market shares and category performance, competitive sales volumes and insights into distribution, pricing, merchandising and promotion. This role is for Account Development Lead who will be responsible for generating revenue and managing relationship with Multinational CPG manufacturers based in India.

Responsibilities

New Client Acquisition

  • Acquire new clients to expand the SMB portfolio.
  • Build a robust pipeline through market research, networking, and outreach.
  • Develop strong value propositions aligned with NIQ’s solutions.

Client Development

  • Strengthen and grow revenue among multinational CPG manufacturers.
  • Build a deep understanding of client business models, priorities, and strategic goals using primary and secondary research.
  • Engage with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Insights, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to identify cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Develop multi‑level relationships within client organizations to strengthen account penetration.

Business Development

  • Grow account revenue by expanding both the width and depth of NIQ solutions.
  • Drive consultative selling by identifying client pain points and recommending appropriate NIQ products.
  • Build and present compelling sales pitches for renewals and new opportunities.
  • Introduce new NIQ offerings to drive adoption across assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with specialist sales teams, analytics, and marketing to build impactful proposals.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across CMI, Sales, Marketing, Category Teams, and Leadership.
  • Jointly build account plans with Customer Consulting Leads to identify growth priorities and relevant NIQ solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Analytics & Insights, Data Science, Operations, Customer Service, etc.) to ensure seamless servicing.

Financial Management

  • Achieve revenue, profitability, and cash collection targets.
  • Ensure correct pricing in line with NIQ guidelines.
  • Drive accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management using digital tools such as Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI.
  • Monitor financial performance vs. targets and implement corrective actions as needed.

About you
You are a driven commercial professional with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently manage and grow complex FMCG accounts. You thrive on building client relationships, solving business challenges, and driving revenue through consultative sales.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or a Diploma in Marketing from reputed institute
  • Minimum 3-6 years’ experience in Marketing and Business Development with either research or consulting agencies or strong sales experience in B2B sales
  • Prior working experience with the FMCG industry would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of basic research techniques and methodology would be an added advantage
  • Has strong analytical skills and business commercial acumen
  • Impressive oral & written communication skills for engaging with client stakeholders, NIQ internal stakeholders, external partners etc.
  • Open to learning new digital tools for sales and marketing
