The mission of Harvard Business School (HBS) is to educate leaders who make a difference in the world. Within HBS, the Division of Research and Faculty Development (DRFD) helps to build and develop the faculty and facilitates the creation of enduring knowledge that shapes both business scholarship and the practice of business by providing unparalleled faculty support. The School’s largest administrative department, the DRFD houses approximately 350 full-time and part-time staff members. As a premier service organization, and in collaboration with colleagues across the School, the DRFD staff delivers high-touch, customized support to the faculty, demonstrating solid judgment and high standards of responsiveness and professionalism.
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Manager, Unit and Faculty Support plays a key role in delivering high-quality administrative and operational support to individual faculty and units. The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a group of Faculty Support Specialist (FSSs) and unit coordinators ensuring the faculty and their administrative support staff are and feel well supported. Reporting to the Associate Director, this position partners closely with Unit Heads, faculty, Human Resources, and administrative colleagues to ensure effective service delivery across assigned units.

Work Format Details
This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
