Role Overview
Provide leadership and direction to employees to attain short- and long-term goals, optimize team effectiveness, and meet daily work schedules in the Shipping/Warehouse departments. Ensures safety, regulatory compliance, morale, and cost control. Achieve departmental goals and metrics by managing crew, productivity, material usage, inventory targets, equipment utilization, and product quality (yield) requirements while generally meeting or exceeding business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures policies are established to maintain safety rules and practices, environmental and housekeeping standards while striving for ZERO Accidents.
- Understands customer quality requirements, assures supervisors understand and follow these requirements.
- Develops, implements, and assures procedures are followed to detect and eliminate non-conforming incoming supplies/outgoing shipments.
- Develops, implements, and assures procedures are followed for the Shipping/Warehouse department.
- Coordinate purchase of supplies necessary to ensure functioning of the Shipping/Warehouse department.
- Works cross departmentally to achieve plant goals and objectives.
- Coordinate with Shipping/Warehouse Supervisors to ensure functioning of Shipping/Warehouse department.
- Supervise, train, and develop, and review Shipping/Warehouse supervisory staff.
- Communicate key metrics to Plant Manager and Supervisory teams to stimulate process improvement and cost reduction
- Develop and maintain procedure manual and training aids.
- Gather and analyze data; make and implement recommendations for process improvements and cost reductions.
- Complete required reporting and documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, process, and procedures and to uphold values inherent to Oil-Dri, including Lesson’s learned.
Qualifications
Education:- College Degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience; must pass all job-related
assessments.
Skills & Abilities:- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a distribution or packaging environment
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
- Experience in bulk material handling and shipping/warehouse procedures
- Proficient in spreadsheet development and word processing
- Able to analyze problems and present workable solutions
- Experience with counting inventory and maintaining accurate inventory documents preferred
- Familiarity with MSHA (or OSHA) regulations and practices, desired
