A Brief Overview
The Manager of Workers Compensation Pricing is responsible for overseeing and directing a dedicated internal team of workers compensation professionals as well as interfacing with insurance carriers and brokers on behalf of the company to ensure the operational and compliance success of TriNet's program, the daily oversight and direction of the team. This role will understand and evaluate Workers' Compensation pricing and resolve all escalated issues.

What you will do

  • Responsible for the daily oversight and direction of the Workers’ Comp pricing function
  • Directly supervise multiple employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and revenue generation, as well as areas that can be re-engineered to gain greater efficiencies.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with our broker and assist in referrals to our WC carriers.
  • Participate in key company sponsored committees.
  • Oversees current WC Pricing team processes and procedures.
  • Serve as the team spokesperson to company leadership related to WC Pricing questions and policies.
  • Work cross functionally to identify and implement improved WC pricing processes and procedures which includes acting as a team lead on projects.
  • Fosters a learning culture within the team focused on coaching, regular feedback, accountability, and development that energizes colleagues.
  • Develop effective relationships with Sales leadership in order to be able to collaborate throughout the review process
  • Leads and develops team through training, goal setting, change management and succession planning
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and work experience required

Experience Qualifications

  • Typically 5 or more years experience in Workers Compensation underwriting required
  • Typically 2 or more years of leading a Workers Compensation pricing (underwriting) team preferred
  • prior experience in the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) industry preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven expertise in working with and understanding the key risk features inherent in businesses and how this translates to overall Workers’ Compensation risk evaluation
  • Knowledge of NCCI basic manual classification codes and the placement of workers into proper class codes
  • Ability to lead communications with various internal departments, insurance carriers and external consultants
  • Understanding of state laws related to Workers’ Compensation regulatory issues and state PEO regulations
  • Knowledge of NAICS industry coding and hazard group classifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization including excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the proven ability to prepare spreadsheets using formulas
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions.
  • Customer Service – Leads resolution of difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs.
  • Judgment - Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
  • Analytical - Collects and researches data; Designs workflows and procedures.

The preferred location for this role is Atlanta, GA, and the salary range for this location is $89,600.00 to $179,200.00. All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in-office role, based in Atlanta. All qualified internal candidates are encouraged to apply and consider relocation to Atlanta and may be considered for remote hire at the company’s discretion. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience.

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
