Job Summary

The Managing Director is a senior leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing commercial real estate transaction activity across the firm. This role provides strategic and operational leadership spanning transaction execution, negotiation, contract management, client onboarding, and team development. Serving as a key point of escalation for complex transactions and client matters, the Managing Director ensures consistent, high-quality execution aligned with client objectives and Morrow Hill’s standards. This role also plays a central part in shaping transaction strategy, processes, and performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead and oversee client transactions, including procurement, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Provide senior-level review and guidance on transaction strategy, structure, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure transactions align with client objectives, contractual requirements, and company standards.


Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Transaction Managers.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, metrics, and accountability.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and formal performance evaluations.
  • Build scalable career paths and professional development frameworks within the transaction function.


Client Onboarding & Account Oversight

  • Oversee onboarding of new client accounts, ensuring seamless integration into workflows, systems, and processes.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for client issues, strategic guidance, and complex matters.
  • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships to support retention and long-term partnerships.


Transaction Operations & Process Excellence

  • Design, document, and implement standardized transaction management processes.
  • Monitor team workload, performance, and execution through reporting and regular meetings.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate risks or process gaps with potential client impact.


Strategy & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive consistency, efficiency, and best practices across all transaction management activities.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance systems, reporting, and workflows.
  • Monitor market trends and industry standards to inform transaction strategy and operational improvements.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate transaction management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing end-to-end transactions, including negotiation and contract execution.
  • Proven experience onboarding and managing institutional or multi-location client accounts.
  • Strong track record of building, leading, and scaling transaction management teams.
  • Ability to serve as a senior escalation point for complex transactions and client issues.
