Managing Director - ABS Capital Markets

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Origination & Client Engagement
    • Partner with Corporate Bankers and product partners to source and originate ABS transactions.
    • Build and maintain senior‑level client relationships; support pitches and lead-managed opportunities.
  • Transaction Execution
    • Lead end-to-end execution of securitization transactions, including structuring, modeling, pricing, and transaction management.
    • Work across asset classes such as equipment finance, CLOs, consumer assets, and other esoteric asset types.
    • Collaborate with Fixed Income Sales & Trading to optimize investor engagement, distribution strategy, and pricing outcomes.
  • Product & Process Management
    • Prepare and deliver client materials, offering documents, and internal memoranda.
    • Contribute to the implementation and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
    • Analyze market trends, comparable transactions, and regulatory developments to support client recommendations and internal decision-making.
  • Talent Development & Team Collaboration
    • Mentor junior team members and contribute to training on ABS products, analytics, and execution processes.
    • Partner with senior ABS leadership on business development initiatives and pipeline planning.
  • Risk & Compliance
    • Ensure transactions comply with internal risk frameworks and external regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of investment banking or corporate finance experience, with a focus on ABS or structured finance
  • FINRA Series 79, 24 & 63 (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree
  • Experience mentoring or developing junior talent
  • Strong understanding of structured finance regulations, rating agency criteria, and capital markets dynamics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, navigate ambiguity, and solve complex problems collaboratively
