Manchester by the Sea: Nanny/Household Assistant Needed ASAP

Hello Caregivers!

Our busy Manchester by the Sea family is seeking an experienced nanny/household assistant. From hire date until end of June, responsibilities will primarily include caring for the family's 9 month old baby. Family is planning on baby starting daycare in June. This position is a nanny/household assistant hybrid role. During school/daycare/camp hours, when children are out of the home, responsibilities will focus on household management tasks. Candidates must be comfortable with managing food allergies, transporting the children to and from school and activities (family provides vehicle), running errands, and other household tasks. (No deep cleaning! Family has a cleaning person come once per week.) Ideal candidates have plenty of experience caring for babies and young children, are organized and reliable, and are comfortable with parents working from home. The family has a friendly 2 year old golden doodle and would love someone comfortable walking him around the block. He does attend doggy daycare 2x per week.

Hours:
Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:00pm, Flexible to sometimes shift 10:00am-6:00pm with notice

Charges: 9 month old boy, 4 year old girl, 7 year old girl

Rate: $35+ per hour depending on experience and fit

Benefits: guaranteed minimum weekly pay for 40 hours, 2 weeks paid vacation, paid holidays, 3 sick/personal days

Job description:

• Creating a safe and stimulating environment for the children
• Tidying up after the kids and the workday
• Children's laundry
• Preparing meals and snacks for the children daily, potentially prepping school lunches, cleaning out lunchboxes
• Indoor and outdoor play
• Taking baby and/or family dog on walks
• Stimulating activities and age-appropriate games
• Facilitating age-appropriate developmental activities- crafts, singing, reading, etc.
• Taking kids on local outings- park, beaches, playdates, walks, groups, etc.
• Transportation to and from school/camp/daycare/activities/classes
• General household help including emptying/loading dishwasher, wiping down surfaces, picking up toys, helping the children with tidying, errands and shopping as needed, organization tasks, etc.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills
• Comfortable with eczema care and food allergies (family will provide epi pen training)
• Comfortable taking family dog on short walks
• Comfortable caring for children when they are sick
• Self starter who can jump in where needed
• Physically able to lift and keep up with toddlers and young children
• Looking for long-term placement
• Active, energetic, engaged
• Ability to handle school/activity pick up and drop off
• Organized, motivated and task-driven
• Non-smokers only, please.
• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Cheery and Helpful Disposition
• Background Check (provided by agency)
• Safe/Clear Driving Record (provided by agency)
• Takes good direction on parenting style and family's routine, then requires minimal to no oversight.
