- Assist with reducing equipment downtime and improving processes through data collection and basic troubleshooting under guidance.
- Help update or create Process Flows, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Participate in time studies and basic labor analysis with coaching from engineers.
- Support layout improvements, small projects, and error‑proofing tasks.
- Learn and assist with Lean principles, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement projects.
- Help collect, organize, and document engineering change information.
- Shadow engineers to gain exposure to CAD layouts, process development, and manufacturing equipment.
- Complete assigned tasks and document work clearly.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and participate in safety training.
Limits of Authority
- Must report issues that could impact quality, safety, or customer satisfaction.
- May identify problems and offer suggestions but cannot independently approve engineering changes.
- All changes to processes or layouts must be reviewed and approved by supervising engineers.
Basic Education, Experience and Skills Required
- Currently a Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing or mechanical processes (coursework acceptable).
- Exposure to CAD tools preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
Internal Training (Minimum Requirements)
o Safety orientation and plant floor safety training.
o Introductory PLC training and shadowing.
o Basic controls hardware overview (sensors, wiring, HMI screens, etc.).
o Engineering change process overview.
o Hands‑on exposure with controls engineers and maintenance technicians.
