Job Title: Manufacturing Facility Custodian / Janitorial

Starting Pay: $45,800 – $51,500 per year (with overtime)

We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Facility Custodian. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized machine shop environment.

This is a day-shift position.

Pay & Benefits:

• Competitive Compensation: Annual earnings typically range from $45,800–$51,500, based on an hourly rate of $18.00/hour, with overtime paid at 1.5× after 40 hours.

• $45,800/year assuming ~ 6 OT hrs/week at 1.5×
• $51,500/year assuming ~10 OT hrs/week at 1.5×

Note: Figures reflect estimated annualized earnings including overtime (paid at 1.5× after 40 hours). Actual earnings vary based on hours worked, OT availability, shift premiums, and paid/unpaid time off.

Schedule:

• Day Shift: 7:00am – 5:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Typical shifts range from 8–10 hours per day
• Mandatory Saturdays: Limited to no more than 14 per year
• Saturday hours: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Overtime is expected as part of the role

Responsibilities:

In this Custodian role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the facility, including the manufacturing shop and administrative offices. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Trash and recycling removal
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
• Operating floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment
• Exchanging and monitoring coolant tank systems (training provided)
• Performing general shop and custodial support duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, safe environment
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including trash bags, cleaning supplies, and equipment
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
• Fine motor skills to perform detailed cleaning tasks, including around machinery and equipment
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
• High school diploma or GED required

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The manufacturing shop is highly maintained for cleanliness, including daily disinfecting and floor scrubbing. The entire facility is air-conditioned and well-ventilated to ensure a clean, comfortable working environment.

This role requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Use hands and arms to handle tools, equipment, and cleaning materials
• Occasionally climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities—including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus—are required to safely perform job duties.

Moeller Precision Tool is centrally located within the Metro Detroit area, offering a 45-minute commute from Ann Arbor or Troy, Michigan. You'll have access to various local restaurants for lunch, easy I-96 access, and nearby apartment options.
