Manufacturing LEAD

Job Summary

The Cabinet Manufacturing Lead is responsible for the overall operation of all equipment and labor in the day-to-day manufacturing operations. Will be responsible for overseeing production workflows, ensuring quality standards, and guiding team members on safety, quality, delivery and supporting cost efficiency. Ensure proper execution of preventive maintenance and housekeeping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading daily operations of the production line to include support on monitoring safety, quality, on-time, and labor.
  • Responsible for monitoring workflow to meet production targets, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure on-time delivery of orders.
  • Will operate and troubleshoot machinery as needed.
  • Support training, mentoring, and assisting leadership in evaluating team members on safety protocols, equipment uses, and quality standards.
  • Assign tasks, manage shift schedules, and foster a collaborative, safety-first work environment.
  • Partner with management to address performance issues and escalate when needed.
  • Inspect raw materials, work-in-progress and finished product to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Responsible for setting up department equipment and labor for safety, quality and productivity
  • Responsible for the quality of the processed pieces
  • Responsible for the preventive maintenance action items performed daily at company standards
  • Responsible for completion of daily scheduled work within the scheduled hours
  • Responsible for leading by example regarding attendance, PPE use, breaks, and to "drive" compliance in all areas
  • Responsible for enforcing all departmental processes and driving continual improvement of the processes associated with department.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to physically perform daily tasks, including lifting large plywood sheets or parts weighing more than 50 lbs. or more.
  • Must have the technical aptitude, experience, and skill to set case clamps and complex drilling equipment.
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills and the ability to read a measuring tape and caliper in metric dimensions.
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency in completing assigned daily duties and hourly goals.
  • Must have a basic ability to read and write technical documents such as machine manuals or procedures in English language.

Education and Experience

  • Should have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or logistics.
  • 3 years of experience in a lead role.
  • Will take work experience and proven math, reading, and writing skills in lieu of formal education.
  • Strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

  • Enclosed but not air-conditioned or heated factory environment. Will include long hours of standing, some heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
