Manufacturing Outside Sales Representative

Position Overview

Founded in 2003, Paragon Manufacturing Corp. is a build-to-print contract manufacturer specializing in precision cable assemblies, wire harness assemblies, and electro-mechanical products for regulated manufacturing markets, including aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, and related sectors. Headquartered in Everett, Washington, Paragon serves OEMs, Tier suppliers, and manufacturing customers that require reliable execution, quality discipline, and scalable production support.

We are seeking a driven and professional Manufacturing Outside Sales Representative to grow our customer base and expand revenue across aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, and related manufacturing markets.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong B2B sales discipline, technical curiosity, and the ability to build trusted relationships with engineers, buyers, program managers, sourcing teams, and executive decision-makers. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing qualified RFQs, coordinating proposals, and helping convert manufacturing opportunities into production programs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new B2B manufacturing customers across aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, electronics, and related markets
  • Target OEMs, Tier 1–3 suppliers, contract manufacturers, and companies requiring cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electro-mechanical assembly support
  • Build and maintain relationships with engineers, buyers, program managers, sourcing professionals, and executive stakeholders
  • Generate qualified RFQ opportunities for build-to-print, engineered-to-order, cable assembly, wire harness, box build, and electro-mechanical manufacturing programs
  • Manage the sales process from prospecting through opportunity development, proposal coordination, follow-up, negotiation support, and close
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Estimating, Operations, and Inside Sales to support compliant, manufacturable, and commercially viable proposals
  • Maintain accurate CRM records including customer activity, pipeline status, opportunity notes, follow-up dates, revenue forecasts, and next steps
  • Support account expansion, repeat business, and long-term relationship development with new and existing customers
  • Attend customer meetings, site visits, trade shows, and industry events as needed
  • Monitor customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
  • Represent Paragon professionally and uphold company standards related to quality, confidentiality, ITAR, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100 readiness, DFARS awareness, and customer compliance expectations

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of B2B sales, outside sales, technical sales, business development, or account management experience
  • Experience selling into manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, medical device, electronics, cable assembly, wire harness, contract manufacturing, or engineered-product environments preferred
  • Ability to understand technical products, customer specifications, drawings, RFQs, Bills of Materials, and manufacturing requirements
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills
  • Experience using CRM software to manage customer activity, pipeline status, and sales forecasts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive-level audiences
  • Strong organizational skills, personal accountability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Everett, Washington
  • Ability to travel locally or regionally for customer meetings, trade shows, and site visits as needed; a valid driver’s license is required, as driving to customer locations is an essential function of this role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling build-to-print, engineered-to-order, wire harness, cable assembly, box build, electro-mechanical, or contract manufacturing services
  • Existing relationships in aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, OEM, or Tier supplier markets
  • Familiarity with RFQ/RFP processes, technical drawings, Bills of Materials, MIL-SPEC requirements, ITAR, DFARS, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100 environments
  • Proven success developing new accounts from prospecting through production award
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, quality, estimating, purchasing, operations, and customer service teams
  • Strong understanding of long-cycle, specification-driven manufacturing sales

Compensation & Benefits

  • $60,000 base plus commission as defined by the company commission plan

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Full-time, on-site position based in Everett, Washington
  • Work is performed in an office and manufacturing facility environment
  • Occasional travel required for customer visits, trade shows, and industry meetings
  • Must follow applicable safety, confidentiality, quality, and compliance procedures, including required personal protective equipment (PPE) when accessing manufacturing areas
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing
  • May occasionally need to stand, walk, or move through office and manufacturing areas
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis
