Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Support manufacturing processes, launch new products, and continuous improvement of existing products. Support the quality management system and quality control for the organization per ISO9100 and customer requirements.

Manufacturing Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production methods
  • Design and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production employees
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing or workflow to meet output goals and customer demand
  • Monitor workflow and staffing to maximize efficiency
  • Train, coach, and evaluate production employees to improve performance and engagement
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, including PPE usage and OSHA standards
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and transport of glass materials to prevent damage or defects
  • Maintain statistical process controls
  • Demonstrate safe work habits

Quality Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection procedures, and control plans.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, government contract requirements, and applicable industry standards
  • Develop and submit customer required PPAP/FAI documentation and approval of supplier submitted PPAP
  • Support and maintain ISO quality system requirement
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of technical documentation required for government programs
  • Participate in customer and government audits, inspections, and source surveillance activities
  • Maintain statistical process controls
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
  • Demonstrate safe work habits
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or a related role
  • Experience supporting government contracts, defense, military, or highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience with quality management systems such as AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, to include PowerPoint
  • Manage time with little to no supervision, self-motivated
