Position Description:
The Manufacturing Plant Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the production schedules for a facility operation. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient use of plant capacity, materials, and labor to meet customer delivery deadlines. The scheduler will coordinate closely with production, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, and quality teams to ensure accurate and realistic production plans that align with business objectives. A strong focus will be placed on resource planning, schedule adherence, communication, and continuous improvement in scheduling processes.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning & Scheduling:
    • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules.
    • Align production plans with sales orders, material availability, and workforce capacity.
    • Adjust schedules based on changing priorities, delays, or unexpected issues.
    • Identify and communicate potential schedule conflicts and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate with production supervisors, procurement, and engineering to ensure feasibility and efficiency of schedules.
    • Communicate changes to schedules in a timely manner to all affected departments.
    • Coordinate with logistics and shipping teams to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods.
  • Data Management & Reporting:
    • Monitor and track production performance against the schedule.
    • Analyze historical production data to improve forecasting and planning accuracy.
    • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on schedule performance and production metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify areas for improvement in the scheduling process and propose solutions.
    • Participate in or lead small projects to enhance planning systems and reduce inefficiencies.
    • Support implementation of scheduling tools or software upgrades.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure all scheduling activities adhere to plant safety protocols and operational standards.
    • Promote a culture of safety and accountability in all planning activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Experience:
  • Familiarity with production scheduling software.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-plant manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Experience with modular construction or a related industry is a plus.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
