This position is for Parker Hannifin’s Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California. The standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30pm - 11:00pm for 2nd shift.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Manufacturing Support Associate III prepares raw rubber materials by operating specialized equipment such as rubber mills, shears, and extruders, while demonstrating mastery of core manufacturing processes like trimming, molding, and bonding. The associate handles material movement via forklift, accurately tracks raw material data, and produces quality sealing parts in compliance with specifications. The associate actively participates in team goals and continuous improvement initiatives, ensures efficient production flow and adherence to quality and safety standards, and maintains a safe and inclusive work environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Mastery of two of the core manufacturing processes.
Safely operate rubber mill, rubber shear, and extruder to prep raw material for production.
Safely operate different classes of forklifts to move raw material, as needed.
Weigh raw material, record, and enter data into tracking system.
Produce quality sealing parts using metal and rubber components to meet customer demand.
Follow protocols to reduce waste and scrap.
Read and interpret route sheets and blueprints to ensure process flow and quality parts.
Using a day-by-hour tracking system, actively participate with the team to ensure daily goals are met.
Enter data tracking using Infinity QS or similar databases.
Read specifications and inspect finished products for conformance to specifications.
Handle, apply, store, and dispose adhesives sealants, resins and solvents of composite materials.
Provide support to complete BARNs for concluded HPT projects.
Comply with Parker's Quality policy and processes to ensure compliance to ISO, AS, and MS certifications.
Adapt to changing production demands or shifts in priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
Foster an inclusive and respectful workplace by treating all team members with dignity and respect.
Follow established safety and environmental policies, procedures, and methods applicable to the work area.
Work collaboratively with team members and actively participate in High-Performance Teams (HPT), Kaizens, and other Lean initiatives to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance operational efficiency.
Perform other duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Certified operator
Experience:
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
1+ year of experience operating rubber mill or rubber shear, preferred
Skills:
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time.
Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency for extended periods of time.
Ability to wear required PPE throughout the entirety of the shift.
Ability to use power tools and heavy machinery.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status).

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule
SALARY INFORMATION:
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $23.25 – $35.50 per hour.
