Manufacturing/Automation Engineer – Injection Molding

Overview
Seeking a creative and detail-oriented Manufacturing/Automation Engineer to join an innovative team. This new position offers strong growth potential for someone who thrives on problem-solving, improving processes, and leading automation initiatives. You’ll optimize injection molding operations, troubleshoot equipment, develop automated solutions, and document processes—while evaluating ROI to ensure capital investments align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize automation systems using PLCs, robotics, and vision inspection systems.
  • Review schematics, analyze processes, and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Use CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) to create drawings and tooling plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, reduce waste, and boost efficiency.
  • Evaluate and communicate the ROI of automation initiatives to ensure capital investments align with business goals.
  • Oversee equipment installation, calibration, and upgrades.
  • Develop project schedules and manage multiple projects.
  • Document processes and create standardized work instructions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred (advanced certifications in robotics/automation a plus).
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, with strong hands-on knowledge of plastics injection molding.
  • Strong expertise in CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) and CAM programming.
  • Skilled in PLCs, robotics, EOAT, and vision inspection systems.
  • Familiar with schematics, ISO, safety standards, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to evaluate the ROI of automation investments and align them with strategic business goals.
  • Creative, critical thinker who drives innovation and continuous process improvement.
  • Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
