Job Title: Marine Electrician

Location: Oman
Salary: OMR 3,500 – 5,000 (or equivalent, depending on company policy)
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years (GCC experience mandatory)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician with proven GCC experience to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic systems on marine vessels. The candidate must ensure safe and efficient operation of all onboard electrical equipment in compliance with marine and international safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair marine electrical systems on vessels
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults in propulsion systems, generators, switchboards, control panels, and distribution systems
  • Perform maintenance on navigation, communication, and safety systems
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical systems during vessel repairs or new installations
  • Ensure compliance with marine regulations, class requirements, and safety standards
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per planned schedules
  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and ship crews during repairs and dry-docking
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
  • Follow company HSE policies and marine safety procedures at all times

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or ITI in Electrical / Marine Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Marine Electrician
  • Mandatory GCC experience (Oman, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment
  • Familiarity with class rules (ABS, DNV, BV, Lloyd’s, etc.) is an advantage
  • Ability to work on generators, motors, VFDs, PLC basics, and control panels
  • Good troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Good communication skills in English

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working on offshore vessels, tug boats, barges, or oil & gas support vessels
  • Knowledge of automation and instrumentation systems
  • Valid seaman book or marine safety certifications (added advantage)
