Marine Engineer

We are seeking a qualified Marine Engineer to handle the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of marine engines and vessel systems. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and system faults, performing sea trials, and ensuring all work meets safety regulations and manufacturer standards. The Marine Engineer will also support field service operations and provide technical guidance to customers to ensure reliable vessel performance.

1. Maintenance & Repair

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance on outboard and inboard marine engines
• Overhaul and repair engines, gearboxes, and propulsion systems
• Maintain and service fuel, cooling, exhaust, and marine transmission systems
• Service and repair steering systems and engine control mechanisms
• Inspect hull fittings, fuel lines, and cooling systems to ensure safety and efficiency
• Conduct sea trials and performance testing after maintenance and repairs

2. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
• Use diagnostic tools, scan software, and testing equipment to identify system failures
• Analyse root causes of engine and system malfunctions and carry out repairs according to OEM standards

3. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance and repairs comply with marine safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines
• Follow company workshop SOPs and environmental practices
• Ensure safe handling of tools, fuels, lubricants, and equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare accurate service reports, job cards, and maintenance records
• Document diagnostic findings, repairs completed, and parts used
• Communicate technical findings and service recommendations to customers and internal teams

5. Customer & Field Support

• Provide technical guidance to customers on engine operation and maintenance best practices
• Support mobile marine service operations at marinas and customer locations

Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as Marine Engineer.
