Marine Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic specializing in tugboats, pushboats, and barge maintenance to join our fleet operations team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with marine propulsion systems and deck machinery specific to towing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on tugboat engines (Caterpillar, EMD, Fairbanks Morse) and Z-drive/Bow thruster systems
• Service and troubleshoot barge equipment including winches, towing gear, and mooring systems
• Conduct emergency repairs on vessels during operations to minimize downtime
• Implement preventive maintenance programs for fleet vessels
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic steering systems and shaft alignments
• Maintain fuel and lubrication systems for optimal engine performance
• Ensure compliance with USCG/ABS/Class society regulations
• Assist with dry docking operations and haul-out maintenance
