Marine Mechanic

Job Overview:

The Marine Mechanic – Engines is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine diesel engines and associated mechanical systems onboard vessels or in the workshop. The role ensures optimal engine performance, operational reliability, and compliance with maritime safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspection, servicing, and preventive maintenance of marine diesel engines (main engines and auxiliary engines).
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs on engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Conduct engine performance testing and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools.
  • Assist in dry-docking, engine alignment, and machinery installation.
  • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and repair reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with the operations and procurement teams for spare parts requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Certification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with marine diesel engines (onboard vessels or marine workshops).
  • Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience in troubleshooting fuel injection systems and turbochargers.
  • Knowledge of marine safety standards and engine emission regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to vessels when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to AED6,000.00 per month
