About Marquette:
Headquartered in Paducah, Kentucky and founded in 1978, Marquette is a leading provider of inland marine transportation services. Our Company operates over 130 towboats on the Mississippi River System, Gulf-Intracoastal Waterway, and near-shore coastwise market. In addition, the Company controls over 1,000 dry cargo barges. The Company has additional offices in St Rose, LA, Lockport, LA and La Porte, TX. With over 1,800 vessel and shore-based employees, Marquette is the largest provider of independent towing services within the inland waterways. We are the only fully integrated fleet in the industry that can do what we do.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair work on various vessel engines.
  • Troubleshoot and replace pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems.
  • Assist the Port Engineer/Project Manager with vessel repairs during dry dock.
  • Travel extensively using a company-provided work truck.
  • Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Visit vessels in operation to assist with repair and preventive maintenance planning.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with EMD, John Deere, Caterpillar, and/or Cummins engines preferred.
  • Experience with Falk, Lufkin, and Reintjes gears is a plus.
  • HVAC, electrical, or Steerprop Z-drive experience is a plus.
  • TWIC required.
  • Excellent driving record required.
  • Ability to travel (company vehicle provided).
  • Diesel Technology certification or degree preferred but not required.
