Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Marine Mechanical Foreman to supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation activities on marine vessels. The role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with marine standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily mechanical repair and maintenance activities on marine vessels
• Lead and coordinate a team of marine mechanics and technicians
• Oversee maintenance and repair of main engines, auxiliary engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems
• Plan and allocate manpower, tools, and materials for assigned jobs
• Ensure work is carried out according to technical drawings, specifications, and class requirements
• Monitor job progress and ensure deadlines are met during dry-dock and afloat repairs
• Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems
• Enforce HSE policies and ensure safe working practices at all times
• Coordinate with engineers, ship crew, and other departments for smooth execution of work
• Prepare job reports, work completion records, and maintenance documentation
• Assist in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues and provide technical guidance

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical / Marine Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in marine mechanical maintenance and repairs
• Prior experience in a foreman or supervisory role is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary machinery
• Experience with dry-docking, overhauls, and emergency repairs
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals
• Good leadership and team management skills
• Physically fit and able to work in shipyard and onboard environments
• Good communication skills in English

Preferred Skills

• GCC experience (Oman, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia)
• Experience with offshore vessels, tug boats, barges, or oil & gas support vessels
• Knowledge of class and regulatory requirements (ABS, DNV, BV, Lloyd’s)
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
