About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Marine Operations Manager to oversee and optimize all marine project operations and vessel movements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of marine activities, including vessel scheduling, port operations, and offshore project support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel Operations Management: Plan, coordinate, and monitor all vessel movements, including tugs, barges, crew boats, and offshore support vessels.
  • Project Support: Ensure marine resources are effectively deployed to support offshore construction, dredging, and subsea projects.
  • Port & Terminal Coordination: Manage port calls, berthing arrangements, and cargo operations in compliance with port regulations.
  • Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce HSE policies, ISM Code, and international maritime regulations across all operations.
  • Resource Management: Optimize vessel utilization, crew deployment, and equipment allocation to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with clients, port authorities, classification societies, and subcontractors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Budget Control: Monitor operational expenditures, negotiate contracts with service providers, and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Emergency Response: Lead incident response and crisis management for marine-related emergencies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular operational reports for senior management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in marine operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record in managing vessel operations for offshore, dredging, or marine construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW).
  • Experience with dynamic positioning systems, vessel tracking software, and port management systems.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Master Mariner (Class 1) or Chief Engineer License.
  • ISM Code Internal Auditor certification.
  • DP Operator Certification (preferred).
  • NEBOSH or IOSH safety certification.
