We are seeking a technically skilled and 3-7 years experienced Marine & Structure Engineer to support the execution of SPS and Reactivation Projects for offshore sector. Our SPS project is in Zonguldak, Çaycuma and reactivation is offshore and Filyos and Mersin Taşucu ports.


Key Responsibilities


  • Understanding technical inspections, work instructions and condition assessments of marine systems and equipment during SPS and Reactivation phases.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, and method statements for the repair, upgrade, or overhaul of:

o Ballast and bilge systems

o Freshwater and seawater cooling systems

o Firefighting and bilge pump systems

o Sewage treatment and piping systems

o Compressed air systems and deck machinery

  • Support dry-docking preparation activities, including scope definition, system isolation planning, and specification of shipyard works.
  • Supervise or assist in the disassembly, inspection, pressure testing, and reassembly of marine components (e.g., valves, strainers, pumps, coolers, pipe racks).
  • Monitor and verify the execution of shipyard or vendor works, ensuring compliance with class rules, IACS standards, and project documentation.
  • Assist with the system flushing and pressure testing operations, including:

o Temporary piping setups

o Use of chemical cleaning agents

o Ensuring flowrate, temperature, and flushing parameters are met

  • Coordinate closely with OEM representatives, Class surveyors (e.g., ABS, DNV), and internal QA/QC personnel for inspection hold points and acceptance testing.
  • Review and approve as-built documentation, pressure test reports, and commissioning records.
  • Support the commissioning and reactivation of ship systems including functional testing, loop testing, and start-up procedures.
  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of marine systems, piping networks, and automation interfaces (if applicable).
  • Develop or revise system drawings, P&IDs, and system descriptions based on modification works or field changes.
  • Coordinate with classification societies including Türk Loydu, ABS, DNV, etc., to ensure:

o Survey attendance and scheduling

o Compliance with class notations and survey items (especially during hull, machinery, and piping surveys)

o Preparation of necessary documentation in Turkish and English where required

o Closure of outstanding items or Conditions of Class (CoC)

· Attend joint inspections with Türk Loydu surveyors, including:

o Internal tank inspections (ballast, fuel oil, sewage)

o Valve dismantling and reassembly verification

o Pressure testing and hydrostatic test witnessing

o Reevaluation of modified or repaired systems per TL rules

  • Ensure project documentation and repair procedures meet Türk Loydu’s specific format and technical requirements.
  • Support submission and approval processes for any design changes, system modifications, or repair justifications required by Türk Loydu.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in the offshore drilling industry or marine operations, preferably involving SPS (Special Periodic Surveys), stacking/reactivation, or shipyard projects.
  • Strong technical background and hands-on experience with drilling equipment (e.g., NOV, Cameron, Hydril) and marine hydraulic/mechanical systems used on MODUs (Mobile Offshore Drilling Units).
  • Familiarity with classification society (e.g., ABS, DNV) and flag state requirements related to special surveys, reactivations, and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance strategies, troubleshooting techniques, and repair practices for marine and drilling systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical documentation including engineering drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, and OEM manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary project teams and in dynamic field environments (offshore rigs or shipyards).
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
