Maritime Finance Analyst

Tappipes is looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Maritime Finance Analyst to join our finance team in Al Wakrah, Qatar. This role is focused on managing the financial aspects of our maritime operations, including cost analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring financial compliance within the maritime sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with specific experience or a keen interest in maritime and logistics industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and report on the financial performance of the company’s maritime operations, including shipping costs, vessel maintenance, and fuel expenses
  • Monitor and reconcile maritime-related financial transactions, including shipping contracts, freight, and insurance costs
  • Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis of maritime projects and operations
  • Track and report on capital expenditures for new vessels or fleet upgrades, ensuring budget adherence and cost control
  • Assist in financial reporting, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to maritime operations
  • Support the development of cost-effective strategies for maritime transportation and logistics
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance with contractual terms
  • Manage cash flow analysis and ensure proper financial tracking for operational and capital expenditures
  • Identify and implement financial efficiency improvements within maritime operations
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for optimizing shipping routes, vessel operations, and resource allocation
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for audits and internal reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven experience as a financial analyst, preferably within the maritime, logistics, or transportation industries
  • Strong understanding of maritime financial operations, including vessel costs, logistics, and fuel management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software/ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of complex financial data
  • Good communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in maritime shipping, vessel operations, or logistics finance
  • Familiarity with industry-specific financial regulations and maritime insurance
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CMA, or ACCA are a plus
