Market Intelligence Analyst

About Energetech

Energetech is a global energy trading and infrastructure development firm with a strong presence in East & Southern Africa. We support mining and industrial clients by supplying fuels, chemicals, spare parts, and other critical inputs, while also pursuing innovative ventures in energy and infrastructure.

Our business is built on commercial agility and deep market understanding. We thrive by turning fragmented, complex data into actionable strategies that allow us to move faster than the market and deliver real value to our partners.

This role is based at Energetech’s headquarters in Dubai. While the position is HQ-based, the focus will be on East & Southern African markets, and we particularly welcome applicants with regional experience in mining, energy, or logistics.

About the Role

Energetech is seeking a Market Intelligence Analyst to generate the insights that power our commercial decisions. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of market research, commercial strategy, and business development.

You will be responsible for cutting through noise and producing clear, actionable intelligence that directly supports our trading, logistics, and project activities across East & Southern Africa. From mapping fuel and chemical flows, to spotting regulatory changes, to supporting the business development team on time-sensitive RFQs — your analysis will shape how we position in fast-moving markets.

This role demands curiosity, speed, and commercial awareness. It is not about abstract research; it is about generating the fact base and foresight that give Energetech a competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

Build Market Fundamentals

Research and map supply–demand dynamics for fuels, chemicals, and industrial inputs across East & Southern Africa. Use diverse data sources and proxies to develop accurate, forward-looking views.

Generate Logistics Intelligence

Monitor trucking corridors, storage hubs, and border crossings. Identify chokepoints, risks, and cost drivers that impact flows into mining and industrial centers.

Support Commercial Execution

Deliver rapid, data-backed analysis for business development teams on RFQs, proposals, and negotiations. Validate pricing, margins, and commercial assumptions with credible market evidence.

Track Competitive & Regulatory Landscapes

Keep a close watch on competitor activity, policy changes, and regulatory shifts. Provide clear assessments of how these factors affect trade flows and opportunities.

Screen and Shape New Opportunities

Evaluate emerging ventures and new market entry plays. Build structured insights on feasibility, risks, and value potential to help guide investment decisions.

Develop Early Warning Systems

Create practical trackers and alerts for supply disruptions, outages, strikes, and border issues. Turn signals into foresight that supports trading and commercial positioning.

Build and Scale Internal Knowledge

Maintain structured intelligence databases, ensuring research outputs are reusable, comparable, and continuously updated. Contribute to standard methodologies that strengthen decision-making across the business.

Collaborate Across Teams

Work hand-in-hand with business development, trading, and project leads. Ensure intelligence is applied directly in shaping strategies, winning deals, and driving growth.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related analytical discipline (Master’s a plus).
  • 2–4 years’ experience in research, consulting, commodities, energy, mining, logistics, or related fields.
