Core Responsibilities

A Red Sage Account Executive is a relationship-focused project manager who brings a high level of strategy, expertise, and attention to projects. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as a liaison between clients and our subject-matter experts, translating the client's needs into action and driving projects forward with clarity, confidence, and strategic thinking. By building trust and delivering high-value results, you will grow client relationships to support agency goals.

You will manage projects against goals, deliverables, and budgets while also proactively introducing new strategies to exceed client expectations. You should be a great relationship builder capable of establishing credibility and trust in a room full of executive leaders.

Account Executives report to the Account Service Manager with additional guidance from the Director of Accounts & Strategy.

Specifically, a successful Account Executive will:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, building strong, trusting relationships while demonstrating a clear understanding of clients' brand, audiences, market positioning, goals, strategies, and scopes of work.
  • Champion client priorities and preferences among project teams, serving as the "person who knows the client best."
  • Grow the scope and volume of clients' work based on sound strategies that align with clients' overarching goals, ultimately maintaining or increasing overall account revenue.
  • Ensure profitability of assigned accounts by managing projects within or under budget.
  • Drive diverse marketing and communications projects to completion with excellence.
  • Lead project teams effectively by collaborating with team members to plan and execute various initiatives, ensuring all work produced is high quality, accurate, and meets agency standards and client objectives.
  • Work closely with the Account Service Manager and Director of Accounts & Strategy, as needed, to ensure all work follows best practice approaches for processes, communication, and quality.
  • Monitor results of marketing and communications strategies against your clients' objectives, and collaborate with team to communicate performance and recommendations in an actionable way.
  • Support marketing and communications tactics as needed, including long- and short-form copywriting and media relations
  • Maintain strong organization, prioritization, communication, and administrative efficiency across multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Acquire a well-rounded knowledge of Red Sage services and solutions, and generate effective proposals for partners and prospective partners.
  • Make appearances on behalf of Red Sage and serve as an ambassador for our company with the highest credibility and integrity.
  • Monitor industry trends, proactively incorporate them into client work, and engage in ongoing idea exchange with Red Sage team members.
  • Ask questions, espouse curiosity, embrace change, and continually strive to improve.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

This is not an entry-level position. This role is designed for an experienced marketing and communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment and takes pride in delivering excellent client work among a team of like-minded professionals.

To be considered, here’s what we need to see:

  • B.A. in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, media, or public relations
  • Proven success managing client or partner relationships and driving projects to completion
  • Experience contributing to marketing and communications strategy and execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • A cover letter explaining why you are the best candidate for this position

The following are a plus:

  • Prior experience in an agency or fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting sales, business development, or proposal development
  • Familiarity with traditional and digital paid media channels
  • Familiarity with marketing and communications results reporting and data analytics
  • Experience using project management software or digital tools
