Marketing and Communications Intern

Help bring Kansas stories to life through content, creativity and communication!

We're looking for a creative and motivated Marketing and Communications summer intern. This Intern will assist the team in producing print and digital content, including social media posts, photography, press releases, email communications, graphic design and website updates. Provide support with drafting memos for the Secretary/Lieutenant Governor, coordinating internal and external surveys and assisting with various special projects as needed.

About the opportunity:

Compensation: $15.03-$18.00 hourly

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities:

  • Produces print and digital content for the Department of Commerce Marketing-Communications team, to include social media, photography, press releases, email blasts, graphic design and website maintenance
  • Provides support as needed with memos for the Secretary/Lieutenant Governor, internal and external surveys and other special projects.

Intern Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in marketing, journalism, business management or a related field, or demonstrate relevant work experience in one of these areas.

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate required in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03.
