Position Summary &amp; Responsibilities</b></h1><p>
The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) is hiring an Administrative Specialist in our Disciplinary department. This position is a full-time, benefits eligible position, that plays a key role in the department&rsquo;s daily operations. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:</p><ul><li>
Extract data from reports and administer renewal review function regarding responses to any attestation questions on Renewal Applications for all regulated Healthcare Professions during each renewal cycle.</li><li>
Works with IT, Licensing and Disciplinary Attorneys to determine the most expedient and accurate processes for obtaining and maintaining the proper Renewal Application information.</li><li>
Receives, analyzes and summarizes information obtained from incoming renewal responses while managing paper and electronic forms of complaint files.</li><li>
Follows up with licensees for additional information if necessary and responds to licensee&rsquo;s questions regarding the attestation questions on the renewal application using independent judgement.</li><li>
Uses independent judgement when to transfer licensee or third-party calls to appropriate staff as needed.</li><li>
Collaborates with Disciplinary Attorneys to determine when additional information may save steps further in the process.</li><li>
Presents Renewal Application summary and all documents to Disciplinary Attorneys for review.</li><li>
Provides administrative support for Investigators to include scanning, filing and updating physical and electronic medical investigations.</li><li>
Maintains consistent quality standards for scanning projects.</li><li>
Transcribes important phone and recorded interviews upon request from Investigators.</li><li>
Attends continuing education to support professional development.</li><li>
Scans and uploads agency documents to electronic format.</li><li>
Provides back-up administrative support to the Complaint Coordinator and Administrative Specialist as needed.</li><li>
Assists with training of new employees or positions in the department as needed.</li><li>

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) is an executive branch agency in charge of operating and regulating the use of state parks, state lakes, recreational grounds, wildlife areas and sanctuaries, fish hatcheries, natural areas, historic sites and other lands, waters, and facilities for the promotion of public health, safety, and for the use and pleasure of visitors. The agency is also charged with the development and conservation of wildlife and the natural resources within the state. </b></h2><p>This position provides sex offender programming in an adult correctional facility.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:</b><b>
</b></h2><p>Provides sex offender programing using an approved curriculum, maintaining groups as directed, a minimum of three groups of eight to ten sex offenders who have been assessed as nearing treatment. Works with the SOP team to identify offenders for placement in the Sex Offender Program (SOP); forms groups; facilitates groups using an approved curriculum; responds to behavior in groups; tracks progress in groups; prepares reports of progress to relevant caseload carriers; completes detailed comprehensive program participation summaries of each participant upon completion. Ensures full compliance with the approved curriculum, becoming proficient in delivery of the curriculum. Ensures programming is evidence-based and delivered with fidelity, participating in fidelity observation, feedback and coaching sessions. Also conducts Advanced Practice groups with completers. Ensures programming is delivered with a warm, empathetic and engaging style, to ensure a therapeutic alliance with participants. Ensures interactions are purposeful and professional, to model pro-social behavior and influence the behavior of the participants.</p><p>
Monitors and ensures program compliance by participants, including attendance, completion of homework, participation in the group activities, making progress in identifying and addressing risk, skills proficiency, and otherwise fully participating in a positive and pro-social manner. Addresses motivation and responsivity on an ongoing basis. In the course of the groups, the incumbent uses core correctional practices to respond to and help change behavior. Becomes proficient in the use of core correctional practice, with booster and practice sessions as needed, seeking and giving coaching to strengthen capacity in CCP. This includes verbal and written responses, as appropriate. This includes responses during the group, and in one-on-one sessions as appropriate to supplement group work. The incumbent completes risk assessments as directed; and responds to escalations in risk in collaboration with the caseload carrier, supervisor, Clinical Director or other KDOC staff as needed.</p><p>
Documents, tracks data, enters information in electronic systems, and otherwise maintains information as directed and necessary for SOP. Makes entries as needed to reflect progress, and timely completes program participation summaries. Attends trainings and skills building sessions as required. Participates in activities self-identified, with peers, with supervisor, and otherwise as available to build capacity in delivering robust evidence-based groups with fidelity.</p><p>

There are currently two hospitals on the Osawatomie campus in Miami county: Osawatomie State Hospital (OSH) and Adair Acute Care (AAC). Position Description:</b></p><p>
The Program Specialist II position is <b>fully in office,</b> no remote available located in the State Self Insurance Fund (SSIF) of the State Employee Health Benefits Plan (SEHBP) and reports to the Claims Supervisor. This is a Level 2 position in SSIF. The working title is Claims Specialist</p><p><b>
Job Responsibilities:</b></p><p>
The primary duties and responsibilities are as follows:</p><p>
Determine compensability based on facts and according to the provisions of the Workers Compensation Act, rules and regulations, office policy and prior case law. Acknowledge and respond promptly by phone and/or in writing to inquiries from injured workers, physicians, agencies, attorneys and others. Process compensation payments for injured workers. Notify injured worker and agency in writing when the claim is determined not to be compensable. Consult and educate injured workers regarding their rights and benefits, providing them with helpful information in order to access and receive benefits. Calculate and issue indemnity benefits. Compute and order separate checks for payment of child support when applicable. Research, calculate, prepare and negotiate settlements for functional disabilities within authority outlined in SSIF policy and procedures. Complete and determine whether medical bills are reasonable and necessary before approving payment. Verify claimant reimbursement for mileage, per-diem, and out of pocket medical expenses. Maintain effective working relationships with injured workers, agency officials, medical professionals, attorneys, co-workers and management.</p><p>
Collaborate with injured workers, medical providers, Department of Administration, agency personnel and attorneys to maximize early Return to Work. Stimulate return to work discussions when injured workers have not been returned to duty. Coordinate job site evaluations or rehabilitation evaluations as necessary. Advise injured workers that other benefits such as vacation leave, sick leave and Family and Medical Leave Act may apply. Inform agency personnel office of injured workers status for the purpose of coordinating FMLA or other benefits for injured employees. Provide assistance to agencies and employees. Attend the annual DOL Workers Compensation Seminar and all technical training as determined by the administrator.</p><p>
Mediate disputes, when possible, in order to resolve issues and avoid litigation. Provide claimant's counsel with records and information upon demand. Prepare and write a summary of legal issues and theory of defense in cases which require assignment of a defense attorney to argue compensability in preliminary, regular or review and modification settings. Retain management of all claims, including authority for defense measures, forms of settlements and other activities. Obtain settlement authorization from management on all settlements.</p><p>
Receive electronic reports of accidents with a threshold up to $60,000; plan and conduct personal and telephone interviews of claimants, supervisors, witnesses and others relative to the accident (who, what, when, where, who witnessed, primary cause). Write a clear and concise summary of the investigation, findings of fact and conclusions of compensability. Collect personnel records, division records, medical records, wage statement and all other documentation as necessary to determine compensability. When necessary, report claims of fraud and/or abuse to an assistant attorney general for possible prosecution of claimants, attorneys, doctors and others. Determine if there is cause to review evidence to ensure recovery expenditures from negligent third parties, product liability and the Second Injury Fund.</p><p></p><p><b>
Minimum Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>
High School/GED</li><li>
Two years of experience interacting with clients, customers, or the public in a social service, customer service, or problem resolution setting. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.</li><li>
A valid driver&rsquo;s license is required.</li><li>
The incumbent will receive training in the provision of the HIPAA Privacy Regulations and HIPAA Security Regulations as they relate to the duties of this position and is required to sign a confidentiality agreement.</li></ul><p><b>
