Financial Professional

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for independently managing Veater Financial Group’s (VFG) marketing strategy, client engagement initiatives, referral development systems, and brand communications. This position may oversee vendors and event support personnel related to marketing and event execution.

Location: Fresno, CA

Role Type: Full Time-35 hours (on-site)

Salary: $98,000

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Budget Oversight

  • Develop and implement the firm’s annual marketing and communications plan.
  • Independently manage and monitor the marketing budget.
  • Evaluate allocation of funds across events, campaigns, client gifts, and branding initiatives.
  • Analyze effectiveness of marketing efforts and recommend improvements.

Event Strategy, Planning, and Execution

  • Oversee all VFG-sponsored events in both Fresno and Brea, including referral dinners, Spring Event, Fall BBQ, Valentine’s Day Event, Shredding Spree, Movie Night, Holiday Dinners, and additional client appreciation events.
  • Responsibilities include determining event objectives, managing invitations, negotiating venue contracts, coordinating catering and logistics, overseeing event execution, and evaluating effectiveness and referral outcomes.

Communications and Brand Oversight

  • Oversee creation, approval, and distribution of all invitations and event communications.
  • Ensure consistency in brand standards, messaging, and professional presentation.
  • Coordinate with designers, printers, and marketing vendors.

Vendor and Contract Management

  • Negotiate and execute contracts with venues, caterers, printers, and service providers.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and pricing.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and ensure quality and cost efficiency.

Brea Referral Management and Appointment Coordination

  • Create and manage referral tracking systems for the Brea office.
  • Coordinate scheduling of initial client appointments.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and professional onboarding experience.
  • Track referral sources and provide reporting to leadership.

Basic Requirements

  • 3–5 years of marketing experience, preferably in a professional services or client-focused environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly.
  • Experience coordinating events, campaigns, or client-facing marketing activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service mindset and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate marketing effectiveness, track data, and identify improvement opportunities.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with compliance‑sensitive client communications.
  • Experience with CRM systems, email marketing tools, or event management platforms.
  • Basic design skills or familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • Certifications in marketing, digital marketing, event management, or project management (e.g., HubSpot, Google Analytics, PCM, DMI, PMP/CAP).
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, or marketing budgets.
