SUMMARY

The Marketing Assistant supports the organization’s communications, branding, and outreach efforts by creating engaging content, conducting research, and helping maintain a consistent and professional public presence. This role blends creative production with data-driven storytelling, contributing to marketing materials, social media, digital platforms, and community-focused initiatives that promote the region and its economic development assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Creation of brochures, reports, flyers, videos, etc. to promote the community and its assets

· Maintain consistent branding for FCEDC and Can Do Carolina across messaging, visuals, and digital platforms

· Conduct economic development research (demographics, wage data, employment trends, etc.) and translate findings into clear copy, graphics, and infographics

· Support scheduled communications to key audiences, including social media posts, newsletters, press releases, and event-related messaging

· Assist with general marketing and outreach tasks as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

COMPETENCIES

Proficiency in MS Office, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite, Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and partners, Familiarity with website content tools and digital communication platforms, Creative thinking and strong visual communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

· At least 2 years of marketing-related experience preferred

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard marketing/creative software

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently

· Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with community partners, Board Members, and stakeholders

· Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work
