POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing Associate is a key contributor to CHOICE’s marketing, branding, and communications efforts and plays a critical role in expanding the organization’s reach, visibility, and donor engagement. This part-time position (20 hours/week) is ideal for a skilled marketing professional with 3–5+ years of hands-on experience who is ready to help elevate CHOICE’s channels, content, and audience growth.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Associate supports marketing strategies and owns selected marketing channels based on experience and organizational needs. This position is execution-focused and will develop, publish, and optimize content across digital and print collateral; support campaigns and events; and strengthen CHOICE’s storytelling with accuracy, dignity, and heart.

The goal of CHOICE’s marketing is three-fold: educate audiences on the challenges and solutions to rural extreme poverty; inspire them with stories of hope and resilience from the communities we serve; and activate them to donate, advocate, share, partner, volunteer, attend, sign up, and more.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys producing content and coordinating its creation with others, while contributing to measurable marketing results through effective and strategic channel ownership, execution, and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Execution & Content Development

  • Create high-quality, compelling content for digital and print channels that supports marketing strategies and is aligned with CHOICE’s brand voice and storytelling values.
  • Develop and execute effective promotional campaigns for fundraising initiatives, expeditions, and events with a focus on measurable ROI.
  • Coordinate content creation with potential skills-based volunteers (designers, videographers, etc.), interns, country teams, pro-bono partners, etc.

Channels & Analytics (Channel Ownership)

  • Manage or co-manage one or more core marketing channels.
  • Build and schedule email campaigns, nurture sequences, and supporter journeys; manage list segmentation, growth and acquisition, and hygiene.
  • Support website updates, CMS edits, and SEO improvements.
  • Monitor KPIs across assigned channels and produce reporting insights.
  • CHOICE’s marketing ecosystem includes a wide range of channels and seeks to effectively expand activity in 2026 in areas such as: email marketing; organic and paid social media; website, SEO, and blog; public relations; digital/print collateral; and creator or ambassador collaborations. The Marketing Associate will help strengthen and execute these efforts.

Collaboration

  • Partner with Fundraising, Expeditions, and Events teams to deliver timely marketing support in promotion, messaging, collateral, etc.
  • Coordinate internal requests for marketing assets to ensure timeliness and brand consistency.
  • Assist in improving internal communications, coordination, and training with global staff members involved in marketing (e.g. communications representatives in country).
  • Participate in and support cross-departmental functions of the Central Office team as needed.

Marketing Operations, Systems, and Capacity Building

  • Support the Director of Marketing in streamlining internal workflows, project tracking, and efficient marketing operations for a scalable workflow.
  • Maintain organized marketing files, templates, brand assets, and content libraries.
  • Help expand marketing capacity by coordinating interns, volunteers, or pro-bono partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5+ years of professional marketing experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Outstanding copywriting skills and demonstrated experience writing for marketing.
  • Experience managing or supporting email marketing or social media channels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (M365) and comfort learning new platforms.
  • Basic graphic design and video editing.
  • Highly organized, effective, and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to work independently.
  • Passion for CHOICE’s mission and dignified storytelling.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with HubSpot or CRM software, particularly with marketing tools.Experience writing about international development or humanitarian issues.
  • Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, or paid social campaigns.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $22–$25/hour, based on experience
