Marketing Communications Coordinator

Mizzentop Day School, founded in 1998, is an independent, co-educational school from early childhood through grade 8. The school, located in the village of Pawling, NY, provides a stimulating educational program along with regional competitive sports, art, music, and theater. Our graduates attend numerous prestigious secondary schools across the northeast such as Hotchkiss, Loomis Chafee, etc.

The Marketing Coordinator will focus on marketing strategy, messaging, and enrollment-focused initiatives, while also overseeing the day-to-day marketing and design work currently supported by an assistant. The goal is to ensure that marketing efforts are coordinated, strategic, and aligned with the school’s enrollment and advancement goals.

We are seeking someone who can help Mizzentop tell its story strategically and consistently, while ensuring our marketing efforts support enrollment growth and strengthen engagement with our school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an overall marketing and communications strategy to support enrollment, community engagement, and fundraising initiatives
  • Work with the Head of School and admissions to promote open houses, tours, and enrollment campaigns
  • Coordinate messaging, branding, and scheduling across admissions, advancement, events, and school communications
  • Identify and implement digital marketing opportunities that increase awareness of Mizzentop and attract prospective families
  • Support promotion of major initiatives including the Annual Fund, Gala, and other events
  • Ensure consistency in the school’s brand, messaging, and storytelling across all platforms

Oversight of Marketing Production

This position will oversee the marketing production responsibilities currently supported by an assistant, including:

  • Design and creation of marketing materials and Canva templates for faculty and school communications
  • Development of admissions marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and promotional materials
  • Management and updating of the Mizzentop website, including admissions pages and special campaign landing pages
  • Organization and management of the school’s photo library and photography coverage of events and classrooms
  • Creation and design of Mailchimp newsletters and event communications
  • Preparation of social media graphics and posts, ensuring alignment with the school’s communications calendar
  • Design and production of Gala materials, including invitations and event programs
  • Support for Mizzentop merchandise design and school-branded items

The Marketing Coordinator will guide priorities and messaging for these initiatives while ensuring collaboration and clarity around responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in marketing strategy, communications, or digital marketing
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience working with social media platforms, and website content management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with different teams
  • Interest in education and the mission of independent schools

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
