The Marketing & Communications Manager:
We're looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to lead the day-to-day execution of marketing, branding, communications, and public relations initiatives that promote the District's role in keeping the community clean, green, and safe. This role helps community members stay informed about services and resources, amplifies news and events from neighborhood partners, and strengthens Midtown Baltimore's visibility and reputation across multiple platforms. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Communications Manager develops and implements communications strategies, manages digital and traditional channels, supports community-building events, and tells the story of Midtown Baltimore's impact through compelling content, data, and visual storytelling. The Marketing & Communications Manager also supports building and maintaining relationships with community members and partner organizations.

Key Priorities and Responsibilities:- Marketing and Communications Strategy:
- Develops and implements Midtown's communications and marketing strategy.
- Strengthens Midtown's brand and messaging via various channels, including print materials, regular email newsletters, social media platforms, and public communications.
- Develops and manages Midtown's social media strategy; monitors various platforms to grow Midtown's social media audience and engagement; and tracks engagement metrics to inform Midtown's strategic planning.
- Writes and distributes regular, community-focused emails highlighting Midtown's work, initiatives, and community news including about neighborhood events.
- Grows and maintains Midtown's email subscriber list.
- Assists with communications and coordination related to Midtown's strategic planning process.
- Marketing Materials:
- Designs and produces a variety of written and digital materials to highlight Midtown's work and neighborhood stories, including:
- Social media graphics
- Direct mail pieces
- Presentations and reports
- Community guides and neighborhood maps
- Event materials and signage
- Sponsorship and partnership materials
- Captures compelling visual content via photos and/or videos to highlight Midtown's work and the character of the District.
- Coordinates with external photographers and videographers when needed.
- Maintains and organizes Midtown's digital photo and video library.
- Website Management:
- Maintains and updates the Midtown website with operational updates, community information, local events, and neighborhood content.
- Ensures website content is accurate, timely, and easy for community members to access.
- Events and Community Engagement:
- Supports creation of presentations and reports for Midtown's Annual Meeting, Board meetings, community meetings, and other events.
- Supports the Executive Director and Community Engagement Manager in planning and executing Midtown events, including the Annual Meeting, community gatherings, and milestone events that celebrate community achievements, projects, and partnerships.
- Builds and maintains relationships with a variety of nonprofit, business, and community partners.
- Attends a variety of community events, as assigned, to gather community input and capture photos and/or videos.
- Data, Dashboard, & Performance Tracking:
- Develops and maintains a public-facing dashboard tracking Midtown's service delivery, performance indicators, operations, and community impact.
- Creates and analyzes surveys to gather community feedback and inform improvements to Midtown's services and communications.
What We're Looking For:- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, or related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 5+ years of experience and proven success in a marketing and/or communications role
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Ability to communicate interact effectively, positively, and professionally with diverse stakeholders including residents, businesses, institutions, and community partners
- Excellent customer service skills, with a positive, professional attitude and goal-oriented and solutions-based mentality
- Experience creating engaging content for social media platforms
- Innovative mindset to elevate Midtown's digital marketing efforts
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Eagerness and willingness to learn new skills
- Proficiency with software/tools:
- Customer Relationship Management tools (Salesforce is a plus)
- Canva
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Mailchimp
- Eventbrite
- Google Workspace
- Zoom or other online meeting platforms
- Ability to work well both collaboratively in a team and independently
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends at annual and community events
- Access to reliable transportation (to attend community events)

It'd Be Great If You:- Are or have been a resident of Baltimore City or have experience working in or serving the Baltimore City community
- Have experience with photography, video content, and/or graphic design
- Have experience with web content management systems such as WordPress or Squarespace and software/tools to create dashboards
This Position Offers:- Annual starting salary range of $62,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience

We strive to provide consistent services in order to ensure a clean, green, and safe community. Within the 144-block Midtown District, our organization serves over 4,000 properties and 17,400 residents, providing cleaning, greening, and safety services as well as community advocacy and activities.
