Position Summary

Do you enjoy connecting with people, telling meaningful stories, and making a positive impact in your community? The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a creative, strategic, and organized Marketing & Communications Manager to lead the Chamber's marketing, communications, and digital media efforts.

In this role, you will promote Chamber programs, events, advocacy initiatives, leadership development, and membership while strengthening the Chamber's visibility and engagement throughout the region. As the organization's primary storyteller, you will create compelling content that showcases the Chamber's mission, celebrates its members, and supports a thriving business community.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field preferred.

Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.

Strong organizational, project management, customer service, and interpersonal skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, ChamberMaster, Constant Contact, and other preferred marketing and communication platforms.

Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a collaborative team.

High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content is preferred.

Valid Oregon driver's license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and a mobile phone required.

This is a full-time, in-office position requiring occasional early morning, evening, and weekend meetings and events.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and evaluate the Chamber's communications, marketing, and digital media strategy.

Create and manage engaging content, including graphic design, newsletters, websites, email campaigns, social media, photography, video, and marketing materials.

Maintain the Chamber's brand standards, messaging, and visual identity across all print and digital communications.

Manage communications, marketing, and event calendars to ensure timely execution.

Promote Chamber events, programs, advocacy initiatives, and member businesses through strategic storytelling and marketing.

Build relationships with community partners and local media to enhance the Chamber's visibility and reputation.

Analyze marketing and communications performance, monitor key metrics, and recommend strategies to increase engagement, visibility, and overall effectiveness.

Provide marketing and communications support for Chamber programs, events, and initiatives while collaborating with staff to advance organizational goals and successfully manage multiple projects with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
