The Marketing Communications Specialist position requires a fun, creative individual who takes initiative and isn’t interested in working within the assumed boundaries. This person has the opportunity to make a valuable, immediate impact and must demonstrate outstanding communication skills to execute our content marketing strategy, social media, branch marketing, and corporate communications. They self-manage, have excellent planning abilities, and are always eager to learn ways to stay industry relevant. A passion for engaging with and influencing the public is a must, as they are the public voice of the credit union.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Assumes responsibility for the effective and timely creation of assets related to content and branch marketing.
- Creates and publishes effective original content including copywriting, video and other informational, promotional and educational materials for specific target audiences or for general distribution to members and leads.

Leads the weekly social media calendar, creating and publishing posts that align with the credit union’s brand voice and engage the community effectively.

Oversees marketing efforts in the branches including traditional and digital assets and special event coordination.
2. Assumes responsibility for developing and maintaining effective public relations with customers, marketing professionals, and external business contacts.

Prepares official communications to credit union membership in various mediums, e.g. changes to products/services, letters from the CEO, system outage or maintenance updates, and other membership messages as needed.
- Prepares formal press releases, assists in constructing crisis communications, public relations strategy, and other public communications as needed.

Promotes Community Relations team events with sufficient social media and event coverage, including, but not limited to on-site photography and videos. Participates in events as needed, which could be outside of normal work hours.

Responds to social media and online reviews, directly contributing to online brand management. This includes private and public comments/messages.
3. Assumes responsibility for the organization’s internal communications.

Produces internal communications for marketing campaigns, news/events that impact the credit union, projects, and other initiatives ensuring they align with brand identity and goals.
4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

Performs such other functions that might be needed from time to time and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments.

Able to adapt to project circumstances and reprioritize workload, as well as coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Represents Marketing and the credit union at appropriate events including events outside of traditional business hours (e.g., community events, YP, Cornerstone league).
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

Preferred bachelor's degree in marketing, related field or equivalent experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

Experience with various social media platforms and social media management tools. (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, HubSpot)

Experience in content creation, copywriting, and social media video production.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

2-3 years of related experience.
