VMDO Architects seeks to hire a Marketing Coordinator to support our Marketing Team, within the broader framework of VMDO’s K-12, Higher Education, and Civic + Cultural typologies. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned, organized and collaborative marketing professional who will be based in our Charlottesville, VA office.

VMDO enjoys success with a diverse team of 80 architects, designers, and support staff providing architectural design for a variety of educational institutions, communities, and municipalities.
ABOUT YOU:
Sitting at the center of our marketing team, you will support emerging business development pursuits, marketing activity, brand strategy and social media. You'll bring:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience within the Architecture / Engineering industry
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism
- Excellent organizational skills to handle the marketing department’s multiple assignments simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Writing skills to craft content for marketing, social media, blogging & SEO
- Excellent knowledge of marketing fundamentals
- Good mentoring/teaching abilities and leadership/managerial skills
- A confident, collaborative spirit to engage with and receive constructive criticism from a design studio
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional relationship skills
- Proficiency in Adobe’s Creative Suite, SharePoint, and Outlook are essential to support a collaborative work environment
- Understanding of the DC market a plus

WHAT YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:
- Organizational leadership of the marketing infrastructure and related staff to maintain up-to-date information and resources
- Management of qualifications, proposals, interview activities
- Oversight and delivery of collateral materials, public relations, corporate identity, special events, direct-mail programs, and market research activities
- Visibility of our firm through all social media platforms with concise, consistent and compelling content / messaging
- Work with architectural staff to develop proposal elements and narratives
- Support for business development efforts with senior leadership and Director of Client Development with research and marketing needs
- Awareness via press releases, magazine articles, direct mail, etc.
- Copywriting for RFP responses, conference abstracts, project descriptions
- Conference coordination for related speaking engagements and awards programs
HOW WE'LL COLLABORATE:
- Reports to VMDO’s Marketing leadership
- Strategic interaction and collaboration with VMDO’s Director of Client Development
- Effectively oversees the marketing deadlines and various activities
- Coordinates with various external collaborators and consultants
- Management of your own time, with organization and focus on multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Uses software platforms including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat) and MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Smartsheet or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
