GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Coordinator supports the creation and delivery of engaging, brand-aligned content that builds awareness of Broadlawns Medical Center’s mission, services, and community impact. This role combines storytelling, digital communication, and marketing coordination to produce clear, cohesive messaging across multiple channels. Working with teams throughout Broadlawns, the Marketing Coordinator ensures that all communications reflect the organization’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality care for the people it serves.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Development & Strategy
1. Write, edit and proofread content for a variety of platforms including the BMC website, intranet, social media, e-newsletters, emails, press releases, brochures, and internal communications.
2. Plan and maintain content calendars that align with organizational campaigns, initiatives, and events.
3. Partner with internal teams and clinical departments to identify compelling stories that highlight Broadlawns people, programs, and community outreach.
4. Ensure brand voice, tone, and visual standards are consistently applied across all materials.
5. Support development of marketing collateral and campaign materials from concept through completion.
Digital & Social Media
6. Provide written content for the website and social media channels.
7. Adapt and repurpose content for multi-channel use to maximize reach and engagement.
8. Monitor content performance to inform future messaging.
Internal Communications
9. Draft content for the intranet, weekly bulletin, announcements, and other internal channels to promote awareness, connection, and engagement among employees.
10. Support internal campaigns and initiatives that highlight organizational priorities, employee achievements, and upcoming events.
11. Maintain consistent tone and accuracy across all internal messaging.
Collaboration & Workflow
12. Manage review and approval processes to ensure timely delivery of materials.
13. Support the Director of Marketing & Communications with speechwriting, talking points, and presentation content.
14. Assist with event promotion, signage and related marketing logistics.
15. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in content creation, writing, or communications.
3. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling ability with strong attention to detail.
4. Demonstrated ability to translate complex topics into clear, accessible content.
5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with content management systems, social media platforms, and project management tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
2. Knowledge of AP Style.
3. Basic understanding of SEO principles, analytics, and digital content trends.
