About Clark Construction

Clark Construction Company has been building across Michigan for more than 80 years. Our team works across multiple markets including K-12, higher education, hospitality, government, water/wastewater, healthcare, infrastructure, retail and mixed-use, and science and technology. Behind every project we win is a team that knows how to tell our story clearly, compellingly, and on deadline. That team is looking for its next great hire.

Our marketing and business development team plays a central role in how we pursue work, communicate with clients, and support our project teams. We are highly involved in proposals, interviews, and client engagement, and we are looking to continue strengthening that team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support and help lead our marketing and business development efforts.

This role goes beyond producing materials. The Marketing Coordinator will be actively involved in proposal development, interview preparation, visual communication, and client engagement support.

The position is based in either Lansing or Grand Rapids, but works as part of a statewide team, collaborating regularly with teammates and leadership across multiple offices. Some travel is expected for interviews, planning sessions, training, and team, company, or industry events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and help lead proposal efforts from kickoff through final submission
  • Write, edit, organize, and format proposal and qualification content
  • Develop interview presentations and support teams in preparation and rehearsal
  • Create clear, thoughtful visual materials to communicate complex ideas
  • Maintain and update resumes, project profiles, and marketing data
  • Support business development efforts through research and client-facing materials
  • Assist with planning and coordination of conferences, trade shows, and client events
  • Participate in internal training efforts related to presentation and pursuit skills
  • Collaborate with team members across offices to strengthen pursuit strategy
  • Uphold Clark's brand standards while helping materials feel tailored and intentional

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Communications, Design, or relevant real-world experience
  • Experience in marketing, proposals, business development, or graphic design. A construction industry background is a plus, not a requirement
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and layout awareness
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for interviews, meetings, and events

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Engaged and proactive
  • Comfortable working with people across different roles and personalities
  • Willing to take ownership and grow into a leadership role over time
  • Interested in both the creative and strategic side of marketing
  • Able to stay organized and focused in a fast-moving environment

What Makes Clark Different

Clark is a company where people stay. This isn't by accident. It reflects how we treat our team, how we involve people in decisions, and how seriously we take professional development at every level. You won't be handed a playbook and told to follow it. You'll be expected to think, contribute ideas, and grow into more responsibility over time.

Our marketing team isn't a support function; we're embedded in the pursuit process. You'll have access to leadership, a seat at the strategy table, and the chance to see your work directly influence outcomes.

Benefits + Culture

Clark offers profit sharing, generous PTO, 401(k) matching, and comprehensive health coverage. We invest in your professional development and we're a Certified Veteran Friendly Employer.

We're also an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and that's not just boilerplate. We believe different perspectives make us better at what we build and how we pursue it.

Apply today to join a team where your work will be seen, used, and valued.
