WHO WE ARE:

Ballet Spartanburg is the only ballet organization in the Upstate with a resident Professional Company. With 59 years deeply embedded in Spartanburg, our mission is to enrich, engage and educate the Spartanburg community with the highest quality of dance education, outreach and performance. We produced five ballets per season, education in our Center for Dance Education students, ages 3-78, and reach into the community to meet the needs of Spartanburg’s citizens to provide dance and physical exercise. Ballet Spartanburg is a passionate and professional organization with high standards for dance, outreach and performance.

This role is for an individual who is an inspirer, a motivator and a creative mind to help market ballet in Spartanburg and beyond; a candidate who is passionate about the arts, supporting the community and making an impact through elevating the presence of Ballet Spartanburg. We are looking for an individual who will elevate our social media and marketing with exciting content and fresh ideas. You may be a prolific messenger and storyteller, a tech savvy, or a design enthusiast who will manage our new website. We are looking for an energetic, positive problem solver and an out-of-the-box thinker.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Print and Digital Design Content

· Ensure that all marketing materials adhere to the organization’s branding guidelines, voice, and

tone, creating a consistent and professional image across all platforms.

· Print Materials: Design print materials, including newsletters, appeals, postcards, invitations, signs, flyers, postcards, rack cards and all signage.

· Digital Media: Design digital assets such as ads, billboards, invitations, graphics for the web, e-newsletters, social media posts, and e-blasts for monthly campaigns or specific events.

· Manage the procurement of business cards, name badges, and other promotional materials.

2. Content Creation & Copywriting:

  • Write compelling copy for a wide range of materials, including mail newsletter articles, social media updates, appeals, press releases, and web content.
  • Develop and build a strategy to share content for targeted email campaigns, and monthly e-newsletters to engage with current and attract potential audiences for expansion of Ballet’s reach.

3. Press & Media Relation:

  • Build relationships with key media and press leaders to advocate positive press.
  • Curate and maintain an up-to-date media list to send press releases and monitor coverage to ensure the organization’s voice is consistently represented.
  • Promote touring for the Company by writing all press information, creating marketing strategies and accompanying materials for promotion.

4. Public Engagement:

  • Be a face and voice for Ballet Spartanburg.
  • Represent the organization at speaking engagements and tabling events to build awareness and promote programs. (Occasional travel may be involved.)
  • Design and order aligned promotional materials and swag for tabling events and outreach activities.
  • Assist team and Board in preparation for events, set up pre-event coordination plans, including loading and unloading of materials.

5. Website Management:

  • Regularly updated website as needed to ensure accurate and timely information about all programming.
  • Develop and suggest new website content as needed.
  • Serve as main contact with website developer/host.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, EDUCATION ARE KEY TO SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field and/or three to five years of proven, related experience.
  • Specialized training in Fund Raising Management is highly desirable.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the use of most relevant practice on social media to attract new audience members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a creative thinker who can contribute new ideas to marketing campaigns.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency, problem solver and creative thinking.
  • Ability to organize information and prioritize work in a fast-paced, fun environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in handling multiple priorities, project management and meeting deadlines with strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with IG, FB, Canva, websites, Google data and analytics, tracking, reporting and analyzing data.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva).
  • Knowledge of website management tools ( work with A-Line Interactive).
  • Experience with email marketing platforms. (MailChimp).
  • Familiarity with SEO principles, UX/UI design and web analytics.
  • Familiarity with video marketing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

SALARY & BENEFITS: This is a full-time position of 35 hours per week. Salary commensurate with applicant’s qualifications and experience. Incentive program tied to achievement of marketing benchmarks tied to business success. We offer flexible hours and employee discounts for tickets and events.

Base Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
